Hello, after thinking about this, I do feel justified to contact you to explain how I feel. Yesterday we came in for lunch and this being a lunchtime treat for my daughter her husband and my grandson, we frequent lovely restaurants and pubs to delight in good locally sourced and freshly cooked food. However, I am sorry to say we left bitterly disappointed and at a very heavy price, now before you think ‘these people aren’t used to paying for good food’ yes we are, but, to charge us £185.00 for our lunch when, I had roast pork, my daughter had roast beef and then there was 2 American burgers … 1) The burgers came with plastic cheese and a few shreds of cabbage and the fries were hardly home c...
Really like this place and always better than it’s rival across the road. Lovely atmospheric interior, friendly staff and with the most impressive log fire I’ve ever seen. Always liked room 5 which overlooks the outside seating area at the back with its panelled wall, spacious bathroom and large bed. Unusually, we found dinner to be disappointing: rather cold pate and what I can only describe as “a dead risotto”; they should glistening with butter and heaped- mine just lay there flat and lifeless. And sadly rather over salted. This hurts to write this and probably wouldn’t if it wasn’t for the price. Indeed the dishes my family had though good were all on the high price side. It worked out to be £40 per head for 2 courses, including Drinks 1 wine, Shandy’s. And a couple of cokes, food was very disappointing, portions were small DO NOT waste £12 on the scallop starter, we both looked at each other and laughed tiny, I mean really small, I then had cod and chips, batter was nice which was lucky as the fish inside was very small, is ok for pub grub, as that is all it is, my friends bought me a birthday cake, the restaurant was really nice and put it in the fridge for us, AND ONLY CHARGED £3 per person as what I can only call “cakeage” so that was £30 extra on the bill, then to finish off 12.5% service charge automatically added, won’t be going back, lucky McDonald’s...
Lovely pub in a cute village. Excellent food and drinks and the service was fabulous, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and were so friendly and welcoming. Do check your bill carefully as there were a few stray drinks on ours that must have come from another table, and if you’re staying the night and also tall, mind your head as the bathroom doorway in our room was very low, as you’d expect in an old pub!

I brought a team of friends. 8 in total. We stayed Sunday night and had breakfast in the morning. Excellent. Highly recommended. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Considering how much my lot can eat and drink. I was very impressed with the bill. When in this part of the country it will be my go to. Rooms are spacious and showers 5 star... if you had a niggle parking is a bit of a free for all lol...
I brought a team of 9 in total and we had a fantastic dinner, bed and breakfast. Staff were friendly, enthusiastic and attentive, all our rooms were excellent, beers at the bar were fresh and plentiful and dinner in the private room was superb. I really can’t fault our stay, and all of my guests were enormously complimentary about the Grosvenor Arms.
Excellent staff, atmosphere, pub with a real fire, homely furnishings, a good menu choice and nicely prepared food and room with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast was very generous proportions with a wide choice from the menu. Electric car charging was a nice surprise in the pub car park. Overall excellent value we will definitely be returning.
Stayed here for a couple of nights, room was comfortable if a little dated. The food is excellent, just make sure you are hungry as the portions are enormous! Breakfast is absolutely fantastic possibly the best full English I can remember.
