A lovely old country pub. We stayed overnight while hiking from Avebury to Stonehenge and were made very welcome. Great hearty meals, comfortable simple but clean and comfy room. We particularly enjoyed chatting with the manager Kuba and the other friendly locals. Really good value for the area also. Definitely recommend! Rooms: Rooms a bit worn, but clean, quiet and comfortable. Good value. Walkability: We walked into the village from Avebury (25km away) so absolutely walkable! Small pathways lead through the fields to nearby villages. Food drinks: Simple but well done classic pub meals Noteworthy details: The manager Kuba is fantastic he did a great job juglling the bar, accommodationand m...

This lovely village pub is staffed by friendly and beautiful people, serving up wonderful food and offering a wide selection of ales and wines. It has a traditional country feel with a real fire, old beams, and local memorabilia adding to its charm. The pub also has darts and sports on TV in a separate area, so patrons can relax with a drink without being disturbed. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with parking outside and a beautiful garden for enjoying on a sunny day. The pub supports the local community with fundraising events and themed nights. The staff are attentive and personable, remembering their customers' names and favorite drinks. It's a pleasure to enjoy fresh, loca...
Shame we only stayed for one night. It's very Dog friendly and they don't charge you extra for your Dog. Irina our Dog was very comfortable staying here. We had a lovely time. Great place to stay. The bed was soooo comfy. It had a nice shower . It was clean tidy. We ate our evening meal there too the pizza was absolutely delicious. And the sticky toffee pudding didn't last long! The staff were very nice helpful especially Kuba it was nice meeting you. Food drinks: Food was great lots of options. This is a tough one and I accept I have biases because my parents used to run this place (a long time ago) and I have amazing memories of it. However, the moon probably has more atmosphere, it's grubby and the week after Easter there were still Christmas decorations up. The landlady was taciturn, although her friend who was helping out was very friendly and kind enough to show us round lots of changes, some good , some not so good. The food was definitely mediocre and not worth the price. Book a table now
We stopped for a quick lunch break from driving. The overall vibe in the bar is either quaint charming or tired depending on your viewpoint. However the welcome was warm and we picked a table and ordered beef burgers chips. We were delighted with our meals the chips were golden crispy, the burger fresh and tasty, not too much salad slime like other chain burgers, they were delicious.
Overall a lovely location, tradional English pub in the heart of Wiltshire. Unfortunately we found the food okay, but not worth he £98 bill (with drinks). Sunday beef roast very small with very little veg and tiny yorkshire pudding. Fish over cooked and chips extremely dry. Probably a lovely say but food not worth the money. Friendly staff though. Service: 5
Welcome to our restaurant. We offer a great selection of beer for both new and regular customers. The staff are friendly and welcoming, even thanking us for returning to this traditional pub/restaurant. Although Ian and Pam may be missed, it appears that the restaurant is in good hands.
Great food and friendly staff. Decor a little tired but great value and a fantastic welcome. We will go back Rooms: Good sized rooms Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value Book a table now
We had lunch here. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the food. Only the price is a little too high for my opinion.
