Today, my husband and I visited Apple Tree for lunch. The pub was bustling with Christmas Group Party Meals, which did not appear very appetizing. Unfortunately, our meals were not up to par. My Chicken Parmo lacked flavor, and my husband's Mixed Grill was disappointing. His Chicken and Gammon were burnt on one side, the Black Pudding was undercooked, the Onion Rings were mostly batter, and the chips were pale. The only good thing he could say was that the peas were enjoyable. As we finished our meal, a young man cleared our plates without inquiring about our satisfaction. Despite the busy atmosphere, we decided not to complain. It is unlikely that we will be returning to Apple Tree anytime...
Went during this eat out o help out. I mean why wouldn't you I got 3 main meals 3 sides 2 alcoholic drinks 2 coffees and a soft drink and the bill came to £23.40. i mean it was ridiculously cheap the food was fantastic. staff were amazing understanding that we had an autistic child with us therefor giving us a very quiet seat in a separate room. And parking was free you just need to give the bar staff your reg number. There are signs about this all over the car park as well as when you enter it so this is easy to follow. Will i go back again. i dont know? Guess it depends on whether there are availability as i can imagine it will sell out fast for spaces. Top draw
We arrived at 11:40, which we felt was early for a meal. Despite there being plenty of seats available, we were told that we couldn't sit in the dining room because there was a Christmas party happening. Instead, we were directed to the bar. When we asked if we could still order food, we were informed that the party would cause delays in food service. This made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. We are regular customers who come in every Friday, so we were very disappointed by this experience. We will not be returning and would advise others to avoid this restaurant, especially during December.
The next stop on our “Eat Out to Help Out” Tour, we chose The Apple Tree With this being our local we couldn’t miss this out on our Teesside food tour. We booked our table last week for 4pm today and luckily we did, as we seen on their Facebook page that they were fully booked for tonight. We all ordered different dishes from Smothered Chicken, Surf Turf, Mince and Dumplings and the compulsory Chicken Parmo! As always great service and amazing food, we’re already booked in again for Monday as we just love it here!

First time at the apple tree today, and we will definitely be going back. The food was amazing, very generous portions too. We got the parmo and it was cooked perfectly and the chicken tikka, which came with rice, chips and naan bread, it was lovely. The chips are real home made crispy one’s as well. The staff we met today were all really nice. Cosy pub and very clean. Non of your usual ping meals like other neighbouring pubs! It’s a 10/10 from us.
First time in The Apple Tree. Served by a very helpful and knowledgeable Natalie. Beautiful home cooked food. Hubby got Mixed Grill that came with homemade chips and I got a lovely crispy coated (just how i like it) Chicken Parmo homemade chips, creamy coleslaw and salad. Mixed Grill and parmo were both cooked perfectly and were piping hot. There was a large varied menu. All food being served looked delicious. We will definitely be returning soon!!
I visited your pub last night with a group of friends for our scheduled Christmas meal. We had all enjoyed it last year, but unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with the main course this time. I typically visit your pub twice a week, but I don't think I will be returning for a while, especially not for Christmas.
Had the parmo and chips with mushy peas, the mushy peas were tasteless, the chips were mediocre, the parmo was average. The staff didnt wear masks and I saw one waitress coughing near someone’s food and then serving it. My elbows stuck to the table so we moved and the toilets were mediocre, never again.

Our favourite pub. Good home cooked food. Served at table. First time trying a pizza and loved it. Tasty! Fish is a huge portion. Chips are not those awful frozen ones. All enjoyed our meals.
Ordered takeaway. Very good and tasty. Bad news is I just received an £85 parking ticket for their carpark. An expensive treat as lockdown eases.
