We are excited to visit this place, which will not only be a destination trip for us but also a convenient stop on our way to the lakes. The beautiful galleries, exhibitions, and café are wonderful. Last year, we became members, which gives us free entry to Blackwell and the Windermere Jetty Museum. Unfortunately, Abbot Hall will be closing for two years starting next week, which is quite disappointing.

Abbot Hall represents one of the main venues to see significant art exhibitions in the area. The building is a wonderful space and backdrop to some very fine art. The talented team there are always friendly and helpful and their knowledge is always on tap. We always look forward to the next exhibition or even just to relax in their cafe whilst in Kendal. Keep up the good work!

Good selection of Paintings, did feel a bit out of place when I heard a visitor complaining about most of the public not fully appreciating the art. No discredit to the actual place though. Nice to see the original portraits from Skipton castle and some more modern art.

We were delighted by the quality and variety of the current refugee exhibition, and we discovered several wonderful artists we hadn't encountered before. The labels in the gallery were thoughtfully crafted and informative, and they were also a perfect size. Book a table now

Excellent pictures. Would have been 5 star but for the brusque manner a female attendant approached us with regard to the small haversack my partner was wearing. Of course it is vital to protect the art. A pity the art of courtesy was lost on her.

I only checked out the museum through Google Maps Street View, but it looks like a fantastic place to visit soon. Among the interesting things I noticed, I couldn't help but wonder— is that a stuffed cat sitting by the door? It seems delightful!
