I rarely get the chance to visit Richmond for brekky, however I did have an appointment in the area and thought I would try and find something quick for a coffee and something to eat. I didn’t have to walk far before walking up to the Old Barber Shop Cafe. . ATMOSPHERE SERVICE. This small cafe offers a hand full of tables inside and additional seating on their front alfresco area. Being a beautiful day, I decided to enjoy what few sunny summer days we’ve had so far. The fit out stays true to the Victorian style house the cafe has taken over.
Scrambled eggs on toast with a coffee and my day was set for a good one. Came here on a whim with a friend for a late breakfast (brunch probably). Good coffee, fast service, portion sizes pretty good and at a reasonable price. My chai latte was very nice. So sick of the powdered stuff people serve these days.<br/ <br/ Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram/stroller accessible. Parking not too bad. Dietaries catered for. Takeaway available.
I use the cafe for small meetings, 2 or 3 times a week. The staff are great about the meetings, they will shift tables around if needed, they don't interrupt and importantly, don't make us feel that we have sat there to long. The coffee has to be one of the best in Melbourne; not unusual for me to see customers buying a bag of the cafe's coffee blend.
This is a shout-out to everyone about this wonderful little hidden gem. Expertly run by a small loyal team of staff, they never fail to please. Small batch seasonal Genovese coffee always on point. The micro kitchen manages to produce delicious food. Staff always positive and generous. Love this place to bits! Great music too!!
