Something has gone very wrong here! Usually a good vibe and excellent food, sadly our latest trip was anything but. The waiting staff appeared harassed and the manageress had the sort of face on that stopped you wanting to ask for anything! She was in the midst of snapping at the chap behind the bar when we arrived, and we had to wait til this was over before he showed us to our table. Turns out there was no rush! Our drink selections included a pint of Southwold Ale, Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla Tonic, and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. We went to the restaurant on a Saturday in early September after booking the night before. The service was excellent - friendly, inclusive, helpful, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. There were seven of us (four adults, three kids) and the food was exceptional for all of us. The fish pie, fish and chips, and kids' meals were all fantastic. The chef's special, pork tenderloin with sriracha slaw, was the best pub food I have ever had. The portion size was generous and the cooking was great. We will definitely return.
