The Bistro – Eat. Drink. Connect. is an excellent dining choice. To begin with, the staff is exceptional. I had the pleasure of interacting with three wonderful team members during my visit: Sharon, the manager, along with Maggie and Ryan. Checking in with any of them made me feel truly welcomed, and their warm smiles spoke volumes.
However, I must admit that I had some reservations before dining here because of the less favorable reviews I had read (some even rated it 1 star). In light of this, I feel compelled to address a few of the concerns people have mentioned:

In the room, the power outlets are poor quality, making it difficult for anything plugged in to stay connected, unless you use the outlets integrated into the desk lamp, which helps with gravity. The TV remote rarely worked; after they replaced the batteries for me, it still only responded about once out of every ten attempts. The bedroom also suffers from bubbling wallpaper. The curtains don’t fully cover the windows, allowing too much light to flood in early in the morning. There's a significant gap under the door that lets in light all night unless you prop a towel there.

The staff at the front desk, especially Sharon and Jewel (apologies if I’ve misspelled), truly deserve to work somewhere better. The hotel itself felt cheap and worn out, which was shocking given the high room rates. None of the common areas had working air conditioning, making them unbearably warm, and my initial room also lacked functional A/C. Thankfully, they were able to move me to another room, but even with the air conditioning on full blast, the rooms never really cooled down due to the heat in the hallways. The room was quiet and dark my #1 requirement for a hotel, and that's why it earned 3 stars. The lack of a couple more stars is focused on a few specifics. 1) Bistro the breakfast sandwiches are awful. The bread tasted like burnt nastiness, and the egg was just gross. If you can't serve something decent, just don't serve it. We also tried the oatmeal. I just don't get it. If I'd stayed at the Hampton where they include free breakfast, I could have built either of these meals and it would have been better. And I paid for these things? 2) Fitness Center it's fine, I guess, in terms of the facility itself and what it has, but it was gross in there. Didn't seem like it had been picked up in days...

The room passed my cleanliness standards, although I did find some McDonald's trash from a previous guest under one of the beds. The bathroom was clean and functional, and the shower had great water pressure. There was enough hot water for a bath, although the tub itself is somewhat small. The air conditioning worked well, and the blackout curtains effectively blocked out light. The fridge kept our drinks nicely chilled, and while I didn't use the microwave, I did use the one-cup coffee maker for heating water. We stayed at this hotel while attending a funeral in the area. Upon arrival, I was concerned to see two party buses outside and a stack of gift bags for wedding guests at the reception. I worried that the hotel would be filled with noisy wedding attendees, which we’ve encountered before, and I dreaded the possibility of sleepless nights during this difficult time. As a Marriott member, I was quite disappointed with my stay at this hotel. We booked it for a family wedding, and my husband and I typically prefer Marriott for our travels. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of our expectations. The room had an unpleasant smell, the towels were substandard, and the entire facility is in urgent need of renovation. Honestly, I felt unsafe during my stay. On a brighter note, the staff were friendly. However, Marriott should really think about closing this location and reassessing their pricing. After this experience, I'm reluctant to choose Marriott for my future travels.
