We have had two meals here, lunch which was excellent and the Christmas menu which was disappointing. The lunch was superb and was our first visit, we had baguettes with salad and chips and they were delicious with plenty of filling. the pub is a proper pub with tables tucked away and very cosy. We booked christmas lunch of this basis and brought some friends and were disappointed. Not with the standard of the food which was good but that half of the menu was not available, specifically the bits we wanted!! It has not put us off eating there but we would think again on a special night
Family decended on us this Christmas break and after anouncing that they were all hungry, I rang the Black Bull to see if we could possibly get a table for 6 at short notice. Within half an hour we were sat at our table drinks in hand waiting for our meal.Food was excellent as always and Anthony even got my wife's favourite dish which was not on the specials board that day. All the family agreed that this made our day special.
Visited twice in the last 2 months and will definitely go back again. Great menu choice, good home cooked food and as for the portions, the meals can satisfy the biggest appetite. If I had to find fault it would be that there is too much! Can personally recommend the Steak in the Pot and Club Sandwich. The hot baguettes get the thunbs up from my husband. Booking advisable and no wonder!
I had an absolutely amazing meal today at the Black Bull. The fish pie was fantastic and I'm thrilled that it's a regular menu item. My husband tried the special burger and he said it was the best burger he's ever had. The hospitality was excellent as usual, making for a perfect ending to our long weekend.

We eat here frequently and have never had a disappointing meal. The menu offers a good variety of options and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. They also have a great selection of beers. We have attended a few charity events hosted by the restaurant, and they are always well supported.
This pub just delivers every time we visit. The food is just incredible and there is loads of it and they are so welcoming. I had been thinking of stroganoff all day so it was an easy choice and my mates steak in a pot was nearly overflowing. Best chips around!
I hadn't visited this pub for some time. It is still excellent value for money both the food and the beer. Only eat here if you are hungry, the portions are substantial. I first visited in 2017 the standard has remained constant.
We had an unplanned family meal and received a warm, friendly welcome. There was a great selection of food and beers to choose from. The food was of good quality and enjoyed by everyone.
