This place has the coolest vibe. South American/Caribbean/Californian inspired. Love the colours and the fit out and the furniture. I'm glad they've finally done something with this space behind the garden. The staff were very friendly, and someone who seemed to be the manager asked me how everything was. I told him everything was great, because I was in a hurry and mostly it was great, except for a couple things to do with the food. I ordered a Cuban pork sandwich, and it was delicious and very filling. It came with yuca chips, which were also deliciously crunchy and loaded with lots of spices. Last week, as part of our final social club event for work, we went to Blue Flamingos for taco night. They have a special on Thursdays for which gets you tacos and Tecafe (Mexican beer). Blue Flamingo use to actually be the back part of the well-known seedy Leedy. Upon entering, you can see the transformation that the place has been through – it looks quite lovely and tropical. However the seedy Leedy cages still remain (of course this has been decontaminated and sanitised haha). We ordered a few of the different cocktails to share. Layout and concept is really cool. Good place to meet for a relaxed drink with friends. Jugs were nice but not very strong. Guacamole was not mashed properly, had a big slice of avocado in it and not particularly tasty, salmon ceviche had a strange taste and the quesadillas were tiny. The best part were the tortilla chips.... Would go again but just for drinks - mainly for the atmosphere.
Cool spot to meet friends. It was busy, but the food came out quick. Tapas style food was awesome and pretty cheap.
Didn't try the cocktails. Only thing to improve was that they need more seating/tables, a few people were coming in a bit lost as they couldn't find a spot. Would eat here again, no more seedy leedy !
Came here a few days after it had opened, got there at opening time so the place was pretty empty but as I looked around I realised how cool the vibe would be if it were packed out (also going down Memory Lane of cage dancing at the old Leedy). If you want a good wine always get the tempranillo ????
Would give negative stars if i could. My sister got spiked here on a Saturday night. We found out another people had also been spiked that same night. Don't trust the bar staff!
