1. The clean, laid-back beach-house aesthetic is inviting. What makes this place feel authentic? Is it the charming boathouse that started as a storage for boats and gradually transformed into a cozy dining spot with leisure options? Or is it the first restaurant away from the shore that aimed to recreate that boathouse vibe, catering to folks seeking a getaway amid the urban bustle? Finally, it has brought that concept back to the beach, enriched with global culinary influences—from Peruvian ceviche and British fish and chips to American burgers and Cantonese dim sum platters. With a menu inspired by cuisines around the world and decor that evokes a Hamptons-style feel, this venue embodies...

Gorgeous lunch spot with views of Shelly Beach. <br/ There is not a lot of parking around, so why not enjoy the walk from Manly to the Boathouse and enjoy the reward of delicious food and setting when you arrive. A particularly great spot for summer, with fresh juices and a very light and open styled cafe. <br/ <br/ It gets very busy on the weekend (not surprising) so make sure you give yourself additional waiting time although, this is not usually too long. <br/ <br/ The coffee is delicious and I particularly liked the option of buying some fresh flowers on the way out, what better way to finish off a delicious brunch right on the beach?
A great brunch place for a date. There are indoor and outdoor seatings in this cute little cafe on Shelley beach. It has a beautiful view. The dory burger was recommended by the waitor. And he was right! It was delicious! The chips were so soft inside. Usually I stay low on the carbs but I couldnt help myself with this meal. The green salad was also recommended by the waitor. If had a refreshing zetiness to it. Honestly one of the best salads ive tried. <br/ <br/ Will definitely come back for more!
It does look like a lovely place to get married (as I know sometimes happens) and what a glorious place to have coffee or lunch next to the lovely Shelly Beach. A beautiful open and airy space. We had coffee, two of their freshly made juices and a muffin and a brioche with figs, all of which were perfectly acceptable, though they lost the coffee order and there was some wait on that. The food, as it went by, looked good: I'd be willing to come back and try it. Book a table now
The location of this light filled café – right on Shelley Beach – alone make it seductive during a Sydney Summer. Such a great spot to have a coffee, breakfast, and read the paper, alone or while the (not so) Small People busy themselves in the sand and sea. With the plants, fresh flowers, framed prints and big lampshades, it’s a spot on beachside casual feel, and one that you wish was your own dining or living room to spend all day.
Drinks were surprisingly good. I would go there again. Had the market fish--nice accompaniments. Partner had fish and chips. Chips were delicious (fish not bad either) and the tartar sauce was better than most. Also very clean bathrooms.
Incredible! I had a lovely stroll to the Boathouse, which was followed by a fantastic breakfast. The ambiance, staff, food, and coffee were all outstanding. They even offer daily newspapers for you to read.
The Falafel burger is advertised as vegan but includes aioli, making it non-vegan. It seems that the restaurant doesn't fully grasp the distinction between vegan and a vegan option. Book a table now
It's always a pleasure to take a stroll from Manly Beach and enjoy breakfast at this lovely spot! The atmosphere is relaxed, adorned with flowers, and offers plenty of seating.
