Very nice, fairly large, decked area outside, with huge umbrellas to guard against the summer sun or more likely the English rain. And there's sometimes tasty BBQ (with nice veggie options cooked separately on foil) on Saturday and Sunday afternoon early evening. Check beforehand. Great views at sunset over the Roding where you can spot the wrecks, or the old barges and try and work out how to cross the river using those two little bridges you can see in the distance. I go to the boathouse a lot as it is a lovely place. The owner has now added 3 vegan dishes to his menu. There is : Jackfruit burger with chips,; Meze: Houmous, falafel, olives, pita and Nachos with guacemole, salsa and chillies. So you can have a nice veggie meal whilst overlooking the river Roding I have tried all three and they are very good. Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

I go a lot to the boathouse, as it's a nice place. the owner has now added 3 vegan dishes to its menu. there are : jackfruit burger with chips;, meze: houmous, falafel, oliven, pita and nachos with guacemol, salsa and chili. so they can have a beautiful veggie meal while over the river roding I try all three and they are very good. very friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere.

If they were to offer some vegan options eg chips tole salad sandwich etc then I would give 5 star as it really is a beautiful place
