This place is awful . I tried to order a beer and I wanted to switch it from Small to a larger beer , and the bartender (long black haired thin girl) said she couldn't switch it unless she called the manager so I had to stick with a small one . (Mind you this was before she even poured the beer or ended the order) She said if she switched it , the manager was going to say she was doing too many mistakes (even though it wasn't her fault I changed my mind), and fire her like MANY other good workers in the past . just for the stupid delete button on the screen (which they didn't have) ! This is unheard of. I've actually heard many rumors around town that this place is known for doing this to th...

So I came here, waiting to check into my hotel up the street (Australia has some super late check-in super early check-out times, whoa). I 'm enticed by a $15 lunch deal sign, but the sign is only for weekdays. Argh. They got me good... But nonetheless, I check the place out. Mind you, it 's right before noon time too. So, like I always do on vacation, I drink at all hours. Why? Because like I just said, it 's vacation. Ew, no early drinking at home unless it 's brunch. Only brunch vacation does early drinking ensue. I digress...anywho mission was to get grub here a cocktail. The gal at the register says, 'We have a cocktail special upstairs actually. ' Yo. Really though? Really. It 's 11:30...
We came here after a disappointing trip to the pop up Moe 's Tavern which left us hungry and wanting a burger. It was State of Origin night, which meant King 's cross was like days of old, when there were 90% less douche bags in the street. All of them were in pubs elsewhere watching the big game at that point. We sat in the outside seating area and perused the menu. Whoa. If you like American style huge portions and everything slathered in cheese, bacon and chipotle sauce then you have come to the right place, my foodie brethren. I ordered the Cheeseburger with bacon and extra sauce. Not only was it the best value, but it was so damn tasty. so. damn. tasty. There was a live band playing insi...
I had been here for a late night drink and to enjoy the awesome live music- but after having dinner here I think for my next night at the cross I won't be going anywhere else. The place has a good atmosphere- it's open and welcoming and yet classy at the same time. I had the chilli beef burger which was great- (I'm pretty sure the standard was consistent across the board anyway) the beef patty was big and juicy enough to be just right, cheese was tasty, chilli mayo was just spicy enough, the bun was lovely- a 10/10 burger and the best I've had in a hot minute. And this place has free popcorn- beats a kebab or maccas any day of the week. Book a table now
Okay, this is a pub on Kings Cross, so that probably should give you a pretty good idea of what it is like, considering what Kings Cross in Sydney happens to be like. Mind you, this place does bring back some good memories, namely because I ended up spending a whole night here chatting with some new friends that I had made. Like, yeah, this place wasn't bad at all, though it certainly doesn't have the charm that some of the other pubs that I have been to happen to have.
I've been here a few times while staying in the cross and always had good food here. It has a nice atmosphere and a good menu, I've usually gotten a larger main like a steak, which have been very nice, especially the seasoning and sauces with the different dishes. After reading many of the reviews here I will have to try the sandwiches next time. They have a nice layout and a good stage setup for live music, which I was able to catch one time.
Hands down the WORST breakfast I've ever eaten. We were the only people and ordered four breakfasts it took ages and they got it wrong THREE times. Overcooked disgusting eggs, soggy toast. My dad got his meal first and had well and truly finished before my boyfriend got his then another 15 minutes the rest of the meals arrived. I seriously can't get over how bad it was. Bad is an understatement will never be eating there again.
I'm not sure if you can claim to be serving a roast dinner if it doesn't come with roast potatoes. They serve mash potaotoes with the roast dinners here, it's like playing cricket with a baseball bat. Book a table now

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
