We have visited Manning Point for the last 2 years over the Christmas/New Year period and both years have been to the kids disco at the Manning Point Bowling Club. Last year, it was busy and the Bistro took ages to get meals out, no one to clear tables but the thing that stood out the most was the extremely poor attitude of bar staff, they were unfriendly, acted like everything was an effort except when serving locals... This year wasn't any better! The service of the kitchen was so slow, adult meals came out before the kids but they took 2.5 hours and then some of the kids meals didn't come at all. The Brighton Bistro is in the Manning Point Bowling Club. For our visit we had to battle with about 50 men bowlers and a paging system blaring calling the troops to mess. Most uncomfortable, but even worse were the meals - perhaps the worst slop purporting to be Chinese food we have ever eaten, honestly.In a better light, on driving out we found a restaurant not listed on Tripadvisor, "The Waterbird" a floating restaurant that is moored on the Manning Point waterfront, 180degree water views. Didn't try the fresh flathead tails, but the coffee and berry crumble were really great.
At the "Manning Point Bowling Club's" bistro, I had the most amazing, huge, juicy chicken schnitzel, encased in gorgeous parmesan and herb home made crumbing. I have NEVER had anything as good and all for $18. Evidently the steak special (2 for $24) was fantastic too. This lucky club has scored itself a top knotch chef!!!!!The restaurant opens at 5.30pm, Wed. to Sun. (despite the old club sign out front) and all meals are under $20. (Ignore the menu on the old web site.)Restaurant staff were lovely but two other club staff members were abrupt.This bistro IS REALLY SPECIAL!!!!!
New chef and renovated kitchen at the Brighton Bistro in Manning Point Bowling Club. Food is delicious and portions are very generous! Chef makes all sauces and salads from scratch as well. Entrees are so good you can order 2 or 3 and share them as a meal. Chicken Parmigiana was fantastic and Beer Battered Barramundi delicious. Chef has weekly specials - Duck spring rolls this week! Well worth the visit! Plus the club itself has the best cold beer on tap in the area!

Went here for dinner on a Friday night and was very pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu and restaurant quality of the club food. I had pulled pork croquettes, which was an entrée but was delicious quite enough for dinner & my friends thoroughly enjoyed their parmesan & herb crusted chicken schnitzel (I had a taste and they were excellent) We were with a group of about 15 and everyone loved their meals.
The staff at Manning Point Bowls Club are fantastic. They make you feel very welcome whether you're buying a drink at the bar or ordering a meal from the bistro. Milton, Troy, Piper, Judy, and Danny behind the bar always make an effort to chat with you, which is great. They make you feel special every time. I have no hesitation in recommending Manning Point Bowls Club to all my family and friends.
We recently stayed at a holiday house at manning point and decided to grab a quick dinner at the local bowling club. We were pleasantly surprised the service was friendly, the meal was nice, servings were large and the price was good. The decor is a bit outdated but honestly that didn't bother us in the slightest. Highly recommend the honey chicken, delicious
The best thing about this club is the amazing food! Excellent prices, fresh quality meals and prompt friendly service. We come here for dinner every time we visit Manning Point.
