By virtue of the location and the weather that day, this place is amazing! Valet parking is a huge plus! We were early for our lunch reservation so got a drink from the bar while we waited. There was only one bartender, so service was slow but very friendly. The hostess told me sheâd get us when our table was ready, and ten minutes after our reservation time I went to see when weâd be sat. I was told there was nothing outside as we had requested, so we sat inside. Two minutes later a table outside was available, and the manager was kind enough to move us there. We had high expectations for this highly praised restaurant, but unfortunately, we were disappointed with everything except for the view. The service was poor - we had to wait half an hour for our drinks and even longer for the check at the end of our meal. The server was not knowledgeable about the menu and kept interrupting our conversation. The menu had limited choices and we had to pay for broth, which was unexpected for a high-end restaurant. The portions were very small - my bronzino dish was the size of a chicken nugget. Despite all these issues, the atmosphere was lovely with views of the Atlantic from a cozy terrace. this hotel is excellent. atmosphere, service, ambiente. the restaurant is best met or miss. cocktails were great. lobster pasta had undercooked claws with the hard membrane still in them. filet was a 7 oz filet mignon with what a whole head of broccoli must be. that is it. overpriced and moderate. we'll stay here, eat somewhere else.
This is a beautifully situated restaurant in a gorgeous historic hotel overlooking the ocean at the Cliff Walk. We ate at the Cafe and thought that it was superb in every single way. Particularly lovely for a special occasion, which it was.
