Tricia and I decided to try something new today. If you have not been to The Catch (by Sam's Club), you should give them a try. We ordered the fried fish and shrimp basket and fried jalapeno chips. The fish and shrimp are not heavily seasoned. Tasted like mostly salt and pepper in the seasoning..... but it was very, very good! The fish was good clean white meat. None of the dark filmy stuff on it. And the shrimp were big! The hushpuppies and fries could be better. the fries were limp and not crispy, and the husbpuppies were a bit tough. Not a deal breaker, but could be improved. The fried jalapeno chips..... O.M.G ? The only thing that could make them better is to make them in a combo with f...
Ordered two pounds of boiled shrimp, corn and potatoes today. It was terrible. The shrimp was over cooked and that made them impossible to peel. We ordered them spicy not knowing that “spicy” was covered heavily in salt and red pepper. Their spices are not added to the boiling water they are added on top of the shell after they are cooked. We have eaten at the Catch in Longview since it was opened. The lunch we ordered today was a discredit to the restaurant and the people that have worked to make it a very good seafood restaurant.
This was my 6th visit to The Catch. Until this time, we loved it. Don't know if they have new cooks or what but not nearly as good. My main dish was fried oysters. They were very small, lots and lots of breading and no taste. I bet they were frozen with breading already on them and just tossed into the oil. I ate one and left the rest untouched. I hope it was just a bad night. Not sure when/if I will return. Lots of other seafood choices in the area.
terrible service and tear off! we made a command. the children's dinner came only with 2 of the smallest chicken tenders I saw a restaurant simulation. we ordered a side of okra and it came with 8 pieces maximum if it should be much more in a medium size box. the salate we had ordered had to dress with him. obviously they are not very generous with their children's meals or sides. will not come back.
