We read all the great reviews here on TripAdvisor so we thought we'd give it a go. I went with my family and in the end, two of us got the lobster poutine ($13) and the other member got the lobster roll and fries ($12). It was all amazing, the fries were delicious, the service was quick, the lady there was super nice, and she's one of the most cheerful people I'd seen all day in Charlottetown, singing while she's working! We were really looking forward to eating here and she did not disappoint! We're only here in Charlottetown for a few days, but may go back again during our short trip! Definitely recommend if you're heading out this way!
Spent the day in PEI...cavendish, Charlottetown and stop here to get an ice cream (cows) which is also amazing. Had the pulled pork Poutin hands down FANTASTIC I wanted to do the lobster poutin and was a,axed to hear from the owner that people said it was a bit salty...pretty honest (if you read the reviews). So I decided on the Pulled pork...it was so good that we did the lobster and it was very good also. Very nice her attention to customers, but be ready CASH ONLY...she has an ATMnext door in case you forget the cash.
We had gone out to restaurants for a majority of our trip so this was a nice change. It is close to the waterfront with parking right in front of the truck. They were quite busy so we waited 30 minutes for our food.We both had the fish and chips. It was excellent! The taste was great and well worth the wait. The portion of fish was a little small but the entire dish was filling. The fries were great!
We visited The Chip Shack twice -- including our last dinner on PEI. The food is simple, but delicious. The fries are just perfect! My kids really enjoyed the lobster roll and the lobster poutine. And we just had to try the apple fries. Do not miss them! They're served with a caramel sauce, and they taste like warm apple pie. You can't go wrong here. Book a table now
It was busy when we arrived, as a cruise ship had pulled up. We ordered lobster rolls with fries, and received our food in a reasonable time considering the crowd. The lobster roll had plenty of meat; it came with a good amount of fries as well. The food was good, and the staff friendly, for a reasonable price.
The fries are fresh cut and OK, but the best I had during my PEI visit were at Gahan's. The lobster roll was 2nd rate, not much lobster and too salty. The lobster sandwich at Sobey's Grocery (Stratford, PEI) was excellent and at $7.99 a bargain!
This was great! The lobster roll & fries was really good, and at $12, not very expensive. The lobster roll was on a toasted garlic buttered roll- very good!!
Seafood gravy, hand cut island fries, and lots of lobster. Unbelievably tasty and so fresh tasting! I highly recommend you check this place out! Book a table now
Um, wow. The Chip Shack's Lobster Poutine is the best poutine I've ever had, beating all my previous favourites in Montreal & Ottawa/Gatineau.
