You want to eat fried fish and chips this is the place to go. The guy there Omar the worker is very respectful and funny. I ordered the Titanic that includes fish, shrimp, calamari and chips was freaking delicious I forgot to take a picture for the review because I was destroying it. Great place to grab a quick bite on the go. I forgot to mention they also have wings for football games. I recommend this place for grab n go enjoy!!! Okay so I don?t mean to be the rain cloud on everyone else?s good review but I did not get the experience everyone else did. For starters, my fish was not seasoned at all. Not even a little bit. Had it been seasoned it would?ve been perfect bc it had a pretty good crunch to it. I got the fish crab and the crab was also a disappointment. It looked more like a little spider it was really tiny) was expecting so much more ! And finally the chips. I really wanted to like the chips. However they were way too salty. I didn?t even finish it. Anyway here?s a few photos- the photos make the crab look bigger than it is. Maybe I just ordered in a bad night.
While picking up my son from a friend's place in Queens, we made a stop in Jersey City to visit this little hidden gem, The Chippery. Although I wish it was still in Bayonne where it originally opened, I found it, and it was just as fantastic as I remembered. With a long drive ahead to Central Delaware, we could have stayed on the Jersey Turnpike, but I couldn’t resist their deep-fried cookie dough balls and Oreos—simply amazing! These are my favorite treats, and I hadn’t had them in years. They were just as delicious as ever. Kudos to the team for keeping such high quality!
The food arrived hot, perfectly cooked, and not greasy at all. Both the fish and their distinctive "chips" (similar to cottage fries) were exceptional. Their tartar sauce was the perfect finishing touch that elevated my rating from around four stars to a definite five. Honestly, I don’t know why I even hesitated. The prices were fair, and the portions generous. It might not be the healthiest meal, but sometimes you just have to treat yourself. Plus, they offer both Pepsi and Coke, which is rare—my kid noticed that and was pretty impressed! Book a table now
I visited a chip shop in Jersey City, but unfortunately, it wasn’t there. The owner had taken his truck to an event, and I didn't realize it was a food truck that wasn't parked nearby. He assured me he was still close, but that wasn’t the case. Regardless, I decided to go because the pictures of his food looked fantastic. However, when I arrived, the food did not live up to expectations at all! It was also quite overpriced, and I regretted using my gas to get there.
I visited The Chippery in Jersey City, but the owner wasn’t there because he had taken his truck to an event. I didn’t realize the truck was parked in a remote location. Although he said he was nearby, he really wasn’t. Still, I decided to make the trip because the food photos looked so tempting. Unfortunately, when I finally tried it, I was let down. The food was overpriced and not worth the drive or the gas.
Mac n cheese bites are gross. Tastes like sweet potatoe mush. Hushpuppies are extremely sweet. I couldn't eat either. Fried shrimp fish are ok. It's weird frozen taste that made me queasy after a few bites. I threw it all away. It's honestly so gross that I feel nauseated at the thought I ate any of it I would never order from here again.
We always loved the chips. It's crunchy and tasty. The other items are inconsistent and the portions are getting smaller. I always order Calamari with chips and the container was really full. Not anymore. I still love their fish and tartar sauce. Book a table now
Fries were cold and undercooked, and the staff didn’t care. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
