We were a party of four and were dining prior to attending a concert at the Castle. The pub was packed to the rafters, inside and out, with lots of diners. Despite this we were quickly seated on the quieter upper floor, drinks ordered and speedily delivered. Food was excellent, really high quality and again delivered far quicker than I was expecting given how busy the pub was. All staff were very welcoming and chatty which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of a very pleasant meal. The upstairs area where we were sat was simply and tastefully furnished as well as being spotlessly clean (as were the toilets). All in all a real find, we will return and highly recommend.
A magnificent Sunday roast (one beef, one chicken with the friendliest staff and swift service. Portion sizes were perfect, plates were left spotlessly clean! (Share a cauliflower cheese for added deliciousness. Deserves all the great reviews.
