Had a meal with a group of friends at the BLBCH last night. Was really looking forward to the experience, however, I came away rather disapointed! The venue location and restaurant set up was excellent and there was something for everyone on the menu. The service started off quite well when the restaurant was less than busy, but went down hill as the tables started to fill! There were 8 in our group and unfortunately our meals did not all arrive at the same time. Two of the group were served their meat dishes and then had to wait for 15 minutes before their rice arrived and then their naan breads arrived at the end of the meal! Having just got back from the UK, we were dying for a good curry. If we had of realised how disappointed we were going to be at the end of this meal, we would have held out for another few days. We ordered a Punjabi Chana Gost (with lamb) and a Butter Chicken. The Chana Gost was very bland and its spices had no kick (it was supposed to be a medium hot curry). It tasted like the spices had been ground days before and had gone stale in the intervening period before being used. The Butter Chicken tasted more like a korma; so much so in fact, that we called the waiter over to double check that we had been served the right dish. Firstly the food was okay, but do not upset the waiter, otherwise your order will be put.back. You will have to wait for over an hour and a half like we did. When we got there was only four other people there, everyone got served with food but us. As more people came in they all got served but us. When we final got our food we were told that the food had to be made fresh. So that is why it took so long. So I guess everyone else was not served fresh food only us? Because no one else had to wait as long as us.? We will not go there again their curries are okay, but not as good as many other curry places in Perth.
Tonight, my partner and I dined at this restaurant and found it to be too pricey for Indian cuisine. We started with the wobble bahji, which were delicious and had a nice level of spiciness. However, our experience went downhill with the netzen. The lamb corma only had 5 small pieces of lamb that were tough to chew, and the sauce was overly sweet. We found it so unappetizing that we couldn't eat it. The bark jalfrazi was also disappointing, as it was very dry. The nan bread was the only highlight, but overall we were not impressed with the meal, especially considering the $100 price tag.

we ordered take-away from here and really enjoyed it so decided to eat. we ordered a chicken and garnel for starters, the chickens were fantastic, beautifully flavored with exactly the right amount of char. the initial portions were quite generous, so we decided to share only one curry. we ordered a lamb curry with a cucumber Rita and a service of roti. the lammkur was fabulous, tender and slowly boiled with a refreshing tamarinden ****. This restaurant when it opened was good, not brilliant but good. Today the food had no flavour at all, a dish which as the words "chilli and garlic" in the title of the dish should actually taste of them... The waitress didn't manage to smile and had the nerve to ask which table I had been sitting at when I went to pay after having served me for the previous hour. If Indian food is this poor, please do not associate yourself with British Indian food... The restaurant was understandably nearly empty...
Nice decor, and friendly and attentive service. The main courses were generous, but a little pricey at $25 per serve, when you have to pay extra for rice. However, the flavours were a little 'flat '; there just didn 't seem to be quite enough punch. The tandoori was pale, the garlic naan quite plain, and while the vindaloo had some kick, I found the sauce to be a little sweet.
Excellent! A bit on the pricey side at $45 each with starters and mains. Serving sizes were generous and the vegetarian options were interesting and vibrant not at all like the usual vego stuff that you get at many Indian restaurants. I'll be returning, a great venue for a group of friends catching up.

I have been searching for a good Indian restaurant in Perth, and this place is excellent! We order from here regularly, take away the food, and sometimes dine in. The ingredients are fresh, the dishes are very flavorful, and the service is fantastic. I highly recommend trying the butter chicken!
