"Sweet old fashioned pub and friendly atmosphere, but the food is virtually inedible! Tempora squid was actually thick rock hard burnt batter. Koftas full of oil and tzatziki was tasteless and wet like it had been frozen. Suracha chicken was super dry and tasteless. We tried to gently mention all of this with no fuss but didn't get an acknowledgment and a full bill even though we sent most of it back!"

We had a pleasant meal with no complaints about the food, which was very tasty. The location is nice, but our experience was spoiled by the noisy drinking crowd outside. It was hard to enjoy our meal with the loud, aggressive laughter and swearing coming from nearby tables. While we could have notified the staff, we didn't feel it was our responsibility to manage their customers. The language being used was easily overheard, and we didn't want to cause a scene. It seems that perhaps this is the type of clientele the restaurant is aiming for now, despite there being families dining there and the higher prices suggesting a more upscale establishment. We quickly finished our meal, skipped desse...

First ones in for lunch today so not busy, staff were friendly but the food was very disappointing. I ordered a £28 steak medium, which came pretty much raw. Had to send it back. Peppercorn sauce was like milk, with no flavour or thickness. They did redo my meal but by the time it arrived my wife had been finished for 10 mins. I sent it back and got them to take it off the bill. This has always been a really good place for lunch, so having not been for a few years thought we’d give it a try how disappointing and won’t got back. And like others have said, no one checked if we were ok and had to get the waitresses attention to send my food back.

I ordered a pint of Pedigree beer that looked flat, so I refused it. The next customer also asked for the same beer, but they were told it was off. The menu at the restaurant did not match what was on the website. The haddock and chips were mostly batter and overcooked, as were the chips. We also ordered the sea bream, which was quite dry and overly salty. Nobody came to check if everything was alright, and the table was very sticky. I had a great experience last year, but unfortunately, I wouldn't go back again.

I don't often stop at this restaurant, usually just for drinks, but this time I decided to have a meal. Some may say that the mains are a bit expensive compared to a local pub, but we found it to be good value overall. The pork chop and pizza were delicious, the gardens were nice to sit in, and the inside was cozy and quaint. The toilets were very clean, the staff was friendly, and the service was quick. What more could you ask for?
