Came here on a couple of occasions. A typical country pub. Friendly staff. Very clean. Thankfully, the music was not too loud. Plenty of seats, and an extensive bottle shop. We ate here one evening. My dinner was fantastic, the inhouse burger, with chips and a pepper sauce. He had a stuffed chicken breast with salad, rather than mash. I loved my meal, he was disappointed. The stuffed part was minimal. All in all though, good value for money. Should you eat here, choose the basics, not the fancy food. Only one complaint. There were two staff members who ordered their dinner some time after we did. They received their meals quite some time before we did. It was a very busy evening, and we wait...

We were recommended this pub by our park manager for a place to go for a feed and a few drinks and can happily say we weren't disappointed. The locals are a friendly bunch ready for a chat and the bar staff the same.Got to meet the publican who originally heralded from the same area as my wife and I so got to swap some stories. We had the special of the day which was pork belly with a watermelon and citrus salad and we both agreed that hands down it was the best tasting either of us had ever eaten. After complementing the chefs for the meal we were approached by another diner who asked us what we had and in due course recommended it highly.A few hours very well spent.

My husband and I had dinner here last night (4/7) . Trip Advisor sites show this hotel as closed but it is open. We were collected by the Hotel Bus from the Pelican Caravan Park. Meal orders are placed at the bar. We both ordered steak, my husband the rump and I had the scotch, requesting both be cooked medium. Both meals came with chips and salad. My husband had the pepper sauce, I asked for mustard. Our meals were generous but the steaks were more towards well done. But the meat was good quality, so we enjoyed our meals. Drinks were purchased at the bar. Bar staff were polite, helpful and friendly. We would return again.

Recommended by our receptionist at our accommodation. All the food we saw being delivered to other guests smelt and looked great. When our food arrived this was confirmed!!! Hubby had a pork cutlet and veg. He said very moist and tasty. I had a rib fillet mushroom gravy and veg. Again well cooked and presented. Very tasty. Best mashed potato I have had in a long time (not usually a fan). Only downside not quite enough garlic butter for our cobb loaf, this also didn't come out before our meal but with it. Arrived for an overnight stopover and decided on lunch. Very pleased to have done so. We had one of the specials for the day, a bacon lettuce egg tomato sandwich and a burger. Both came with chips and were plentiful, tasty and well priced. It appeared to be very popular for lunch so another indication of quality. Bar prices very reasonable as well. Recomnend that you stop here if you go to St George.

Called in to have some dinner after a week in hospital. Asked the chef if he could change the menu to suite my new diet that I have to be on for a few weeks. No problem at all. He was very accommodating with even peeling and de seeding the tomatoes for me. Would highly recommend this place for a meal.

Came here on the basis of other reviews, we waited an hour for our meal, Wednesday evening seriously? Had the crispy salmon which was fine but small portions of fish. Could be so better organized !
