I frequented the library coffee house every couple weeks with my family. The first time we went we ordered food and it was a complete rip off. Never again. We just stuck with coffee after that. Over £3 for bacon sandwiches with only 2 pieces of bacon and some average bread, too much butter too. Avocado smash which we were told had chilli and lemon in it only had lemon, and the smallest bit of sourdough. The cakes were fantastic, so delicious (I think they said they employ a baker who makes them in house? but not worth the £2.95 we paid for them. Nice for an occasional treat though. Tea was £2.50 for a small pot! We were told it was premium tea but even that is too much. We learned our lesson...

My partner and I visited on Saturday morning for breakfast. As we approached I noticed the tubs of dead flowers outside, I perhaps should have taken that as a warning and gone elsewhere. I asked for my coffe hot, it was lukewarm. 'Posh ' beans on toast had no taste to them at all. My avocado was not smashed it was cut in large chunks and not seasoned. My poached egg was snotty. No marmalade and I therefore ate the most expensive slice of ordinary sliced bread toast and jam I have ever eaten. Add to this one badly behaved dog one badly behaved child, I write this with such disappointment. I did not complain because there would have been so much to say, we just ate up put up and left. I have w...
I visit the cafe every week with my dogs as this cafe is dog friendly and they can come inside and sit with me, which means I can use the cafe all year round rather than only when the weather allows me to sit outside. The choice of food and drinks is very good and staff are very friendly and welcoming, even when I turn up with three large dogs. There is always water available by the door for the dogs and then they like to share a warmed up sausage roll with to refuel for the second leg of our morning walk. Both they and I look forward to visiting every week.
What a shame. I have been here lots of times, but not for about 5 months. The food was fine. although expensive) The problem is the cleanliness. Really gone downhill. It's dirty. The floor looked like it needed a deep clean. The toilet was rank. Cups and spoons stained. Paint peeling, tables chipped cushions tired. It's such a shame, it was a lovely little coffee shop. It really does need some tlc, make it welcoming again! Book a table now
My husband and I love the place but sadly when we have come in not only has the bill been very expensive but the food just isn’t very fresh. Cakes can be very dry to the point where we chucked them away.. I stopped ordering porridge because it was awful and the staff attitude can be very unpredictable. Really sad to leave this feedback
Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. Both the service and the food was spot on. I went for the Avacado toast and a coffee. It was very good. So much so, that we even stayed for a smoothie afterwards! Located just outside of Bury St. Edmund's, not really walking distance. We will be back!
The place was busy and had a good buzz flat white pretty good but served in a glass I will ask for a cup next time. The sausage roll was one of the best I have had. We will be calling in again when back that way.
Popped in here after our walk on a Saturday afternoon. The food we had was very dry and flavourless. The staff were cold and unwelcoming. However the sausage roll was delicious. Book a table now
I have visited this place for several years and always found it to be a tucked-away haven of tranquility and wholesomeness.
What a shame! This was a truly loved little meeting house but it has really changed, looks very unloved.
