I am very disappointed with coffee trader, the customer service is so very poor that even my 8 year old son noticed. I was having an extremely awful day so I decided to get coffee for my 2 boys and I, we ordered 3 mocha mountains,we drove up to the window and paid, after I paid I saw 3 hot drinks sitting on the counter, I asked if the hot drinks were ours and the girl said yes, I apologized and said we would like it blended. She rolled her eyes and turned around to tell her co-worker,her co-worker replied “Well she didn’t specify”. Anytime you order a coffee isn’t it the barista’s responsibility to ask hot, iced or blended? It wasn’t even busy, there was one car behind me, I felt as though w...

Coffee Trader is the coffee shop of choice in Montrose. I prefer the old shop, across the street from The Horsefly, which is a converted old house. One thing I love about it is that you can buy a (microwaved) breakfast sandwich any time of the day, long after that place with the golden arch (the one in town only has one arch, for some reason) will tell you sorry, we 're serving our lunch menu now. The coffee is excellent too, of course. In nice weather, it has a very pleasant, mostly shaded outdoor patio frequented by a flock of song birds. And the house has all sorts of nooks in it to settle into. My only quibble is that when it 's busy, it can be hard to find an inside table that isn 't wit...
Stopped in on Memorial Day. This coffee spot is in an old converted two-story building. It has lots of seating in converted rooms on both floors, and the porch and side yard area. Bathrooms look like original, but get the job done. Service was prompt and friendly. The Americano was good, with a discounted coffee refill. It's convenient to the old downtown, a nearby RV Park, and the Saturday farmer's market. Homey place with old-fasioned vibe. Parking may be tight on busy days. Overall, a Two Thumbs up!
Cute place and my grandkids loved the muffins. I hate giving bad reviews but the latte was horrible. I even tried adding sweetener and just had to dump the whole thing out. My grandson also dumped out his flavored ice tea. If you like good roasted beans and quality coffee this is not the place, so sorry to say. I have tried several times through the years and it appears to be getting worse. Book a table now
Decent coffee, but reallllly great breakfast sandwiches (so cheesy and delicious) and great spot to work for a few hours. Upstairs has plenty of tables and chairs, the internet was reliable, and there’s even a small ‘conference’ style room to work from. If you’re driving through and need a spot to get a few hours of work in this is the perfect spot!
This charming little coffee shop is a must-stop for us whenever we're passing through Montrose. The coffee is consistently excellent, and if you arrive early enough to snag some baked goods before they run out, you're in for a treat!
Loved this shop. Helpful and friendly service. Minimal menu, but my chai tea and my husband's coffee were excellent. My husband even bought several things off the shelves, he was so enthralled with the place.
In town from Wisconsin. I always enjoy trying a local coffee shop. Nice historic house, lovely front porch with surrounding gardens and my iced latte was delicious. Book a table now
Such an adorable coffee shop! Parking is limited, but the outdoor garden sitting area and chai latte are more than worth it.
Cute place and nice folks but the coffee is not really all that great. Kinda tastes burnt and lack of flavor unfortunately.
