Confused from the start. We were told we had to prebook, when we got there this is for only groups of 10? We received our precooked food before we had ordered drinks. We were then pretty rushed through our meal, in and out in less than an hour. We feel we were treated as happy hour customers who unfortunately paid full price. Also one of our party couldn’t make it as was poorly. We were told as pre booked and pre cooked we had to pay for the meal, which we did and took away in a doggy bag. Finally came to pay the bill and was then told we would not be charged for the the meal for our friend. Dark room, average food.
A friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try for some food. The atmosphere was pleasant, the food was tasty, and reasonably priced. We paid just over £30 each for a small plate, main course, dessert, and a cocktail, which we thought was quite fair. The staff were very friendly. We were seated in the dining area and could hear the live singer in the bar very clearly. Overall, it was a delightful experience and we both agreed that we would return in the future. The ambiance was top-notch, and the food was excellent. 10/10 all around.
Can’t fault this place at all, staff welcoming from the start despite being busy, part of a large preordered party so was expecting a wait but no! Food came out quickly, tasted fresh and in generous portions. My friends were very impressed with their meals too, even offered to take what we couldn’t eat away. Service was excellent, consistently offered drinks and very polite throughout. A great night had by all and at a fraction of what most places charge nowadays, thank you very much for a lovely evening. We will definitely be back
Having had a great meal here in May, we were looking forward to a return. Unfortunately, the food was poor. Starting with a mussels starter, about 50% of the shells were broken, leading to many pieces of shell being stuck to the flesh, very unpleasant. For the main, two of us had Beef Stroganoff, the beef was overcooked and extremely tough, we ended up having it boxed up to take home for the dog. We also had a burger, this too was overdone and very dry, which was surprising, as it came with an apology for the delay.

Our group of 10 went to this restaurant and experienced some mishaps, such as starters arriving after main courses were finished and pre-ordered desserts not being available. However, the standout issue for me was the terrible pasta dish. The Linguine al Simone, which three of us ordered, was severely lacking in salmon and had a watery cream sauce. This was my second attempt at trying pasta here, and I will not be doing so again.
During our day outing in Lancaster, we stumbled upon The Corner House for lunch and we are so grateful we did. The staff were extremely attentive, the food was delicious with generous portions, and the live music was a delightful surprise. We will definitely be returning when we visit Lancaster again.
Dont bother going Table of 8 booked not one happy person Burnt yorkshire and roasters warmed up beef like boil in the bag . Sirlion steak full of fat fillet steak must have been frozen meat Spot the prawn in your meal not What a waist of tjme and money will never go back .
Lovely meal out with some work colleagues. Would definitely recommend the crispy chilli beef and the salt and pepper chips, amazing and so tasty! Great choice of good and decent live music albeit a little loud to carry on chatting inside but plenty of seating outside
