On a very wet drive to collect a dining table (think biblical and rivers for roads) we were running late for a meal at a chain restaurant closer to home (Brighton) We happened across this pub and tried our luck for a table for 5...at 1700. Not only did they have a table but they had an all day Carvery and had just refreshed the veg. The food is large portions and so tasty! Our kids all had small servings and this was more than enough. The ‘adult’ medium was huge and I don’t think we would have managed the large plate. Puddings are as you’d expect from a local pub. Moorish and large portions. what a nice fund this pub of the beaten stretch, we booked for my husband birthday, we all had the carvary it was delicious, the staff was very friendly helpful, they decorated our table even leaving a birthday card on the table., we even took a teller for our son who could not do it will go back to 100%. we were at the cricketers for a family wedding close. the staff was very helpful and friendly. our room was excellent and comfortable. Tea/coffee facilities in our room and cookies. the food was nice. very generous portions. would definitely stay again and would recommend...family and friends.
