Wow! We didn’t book in advance, thinking it would be a quiet cheeky Friday lunch as one of our ‘safe places’. How wrong were we? It was busy, which was good to see! We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome as usual, which starts the whole experience off on a brilliant start. The service was fantastic and the ability to be flexible from turning a starter into a main course with a tweak to accommodate lactose intolerance was outstanding, with a couple of different options to choose from (mussels with either a cider sauce or tomato with garlic). then I went for one of the best starters I've ever had, the Charcuterie Board. now they are ready for the huge list of meat that was on the board beech smoked air dried ham, goose salami, smoked duck, air dried pork cheek, creedy farm beef bresaola, confit pork terrine, cheese truffle honey, olive oil, salsa verde, garlic, cornichons and toast. I mean seriously, that's a serious teller of eating. salami. pork cheek. terrine. truffle honey. Oh, my God. everything was delicious, my only observation, I would like to be the garlic, a part of her camein smoked garlic on the toast to spread, but hey I am a garlic feather, so was only happy that it was included.

Self-taught chef Paul truly knows how to create delicious food. This restaurant may not offer fancy, artistic dishes, but you can expect generous portions of modern and wholesome English cuisine. The wine prices are fair, and there is occasionally live music in the marquee. It is definitely one of the best dining options in the south Oxfordshire area and a top choice for me.

Outstanding Sunday lunch, great range of starters and the best roast beef with generous sides included. As for the puddings the chocolate nemesis was a highlight. Good range of vegetarian and fish options. Service was exceptional. Have been coming here for many years and it is consistently high quality and reliable.
