Visited with my husband last night for dinner. As soon as we went through the door I detected a funny smell. Don’t know what it was, but it wasn’t inviting or welcoming. The inside is very old fashioned without being ‘trendy’ or quirky. The wood...chip on the walls had seen better days, as had the array of ornamental glass bottles on the shelves next to our table. Also on the shelf was a radio playing radio 2. I am a radio 2 fan, but not at 7.30 in the evening while having dinner not good for the ambience! I ordered fisherman’s pie which was semi ok, but was clearly microwaved as it arrived within 15 minutes. The accompanying new potatoes were also microwaved, given the 15 minute window and...
Called in for a pint and light lunch on a very busy Saturday. The pub offers a good selection of ales, lager and draft cider and the couple of pints I had were perfectly kept. Lunch (bacon brie paninis) was served quickly and was...very good.
The meal and service were great . This is a traditional Pub great range of beers and the food really good . Will certainly go here again.
Lovely meal at the Crown and Trumpet, nice atmosphere, good beers and very dog friendly. Will visit again.
