Came here for breakfast as was walking past but looked very dimly lit. Food was nice but asked for coffee/tea with our food to be told that they do not offer this even though the manager was sat eating breakfast WITH A COFFEE. Barmaid was very nice but manager made us feel like we were in his way when he actually acknowledged us. Needed the key to go to the toilet and as only one bar maid working was not worth our time to wait. Overall not a great experience but the food was nice. If you're going to do breakfast, do it right!
this hotel has two sides one for the black fellas and their white compatriots out the back... this is the sleazy side...they are not allowed to use the toilets on the other side of the hotel therefore they are kept locked...so when I was busting to go to the toilet I had to ask the barmaid who then asked the owner for the key...I had ordered lunch or I wouldn't have been able to use them at all...in the past I had tried to use them without buying a drink and was refused...even though I go to this hotel regularly...
We traveled 25 mins from Palm Cove twice for dinner at this pub. Lots of locals drink here. We had steak, egg and chips both times and the steak was as good as you get in a more upmarket restaurant. The house wine is around $6 a glass and very acceptable. The staff are really pleasant and its an experience we really enjoy. Next time we are in FNQ will be going back here.
The place looks a bit sad inside. I wanted to wash my hands before I ate but there was no soap in the gents toilets and they looked as though they hadn't been cleaned all day.Still, I decided to stay and the food was actually really nice and reasonably priced.

Esse é um local muito interessante da cidade frequentado por australianos e poucos turistas.O serviço é feito no balcão: pede, paga e dai você mesmo leva para a mesa. Pedimos um frango com fritas e salada que estavam deliciosos. Preço justo.
We had lunch with 3 other couples during 2 day stay in Cairns. Good variety of meals that were very reasonably priced . Staff whilst we were there were very friendly. Interesting local and tourists enjoying the pub whilst we were there.
We only dropped in for a cold beer as the temp was climbing through the roof. We thought we had been transported back to the 1950s. I half expected to see Chips Rafferty standing at the bar. Skulled the quickie and left.......

We had a quick snack and a couple of drinks staff were very pleasant good location and ideal location to watch the world go by
I was supprise to find a very large band of Euchelely players converge on the pub on Friday nights. Interesting to see.
