Our family use this pub often for takeaway Sunday lunches and recently we have been meeting up here for lunch. The four of us were so disappointed with our meals on Thursday. The jacket potatoes were overcooked with barely any filling, the fish was greasy and tasteless and the curly fries were hard. There was no point in saying anything as the kitchen was closed. We know they are in between chefs until the proper one who knows how to cook is back from sick leave and until then we wont be back midweek or for the roast which has also gone downhill :
We've visited this pub several times in the last 2 months, whilst staying with family, we can't recommend it highly enough, Neil the landlord is very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent and good value for money, from the Sunday roasts to the pub grub it's all second to none, good portions at great prices. There's live sports coverage and a weekly pub quiz, what more could you want, wish we lived near here as it would definitely be our local.
The Sunday roast at this restaurant is excellent, and they also offer a nice alternative menu. It's definitely worth making a habit of visiting, especially since it's so close to us. The kids also liked their roast and were able to watch football on the screens. Great value for the money, the chef and owner should be commended for a job well done.
I recently enjoyed a delicious roast at the Delve Pub. However, I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to take my dessert order. When I went to the bar to inquire about placing my dessert order, I encountered a bartender with an attitude issue, who I suspect is married to the owner. Regardless, it is unacceptable to speak rudely to customers.
