The Dog And Gun - Table reservation

Have visited this pub on numerous occasions without a problem . However due to a medical condition I am not able to drink alcoholic drinks. I asked the bar attendant what 0% beers they had . With a laugh he said ‘ ha yes we have water’ ! With a laugh from the other bar person and someone stood at the bar . You may think it’s the way I took it but having been laughed at I wasn’t too happy . 0% beers are an ever expanding part of the pub business . Many young people prefer not to drink alcohol these days . And with the drop in numbers of people going out to pubs , whether the costs or a change to a healthier lifestyle it would surely benefit pubs to stock more 0% drinks . Maybe get one on tap...

The beer choice was excellent although my wife was disappointed with the wine choice (she had the malbec). You have to take pot luck on getting a table and we had to wait about 20 minutes for one to come free. We nearly lost it to a pair of old ladies who had only just come in but we were ruthless. We had hoped to try the goulash but that had sold out whilst we were waiting (we arrived just before 6pm so get there early) and so we had the steak and ale pie instead. Not a mistake, it was delicious. Tables are very close together so being sociable is a must we got chatting to a lovely couple from Norwich. Once again great pub food. Goulash again superb, great service, really nice to be greeted with a smile A well run British boozer. Or should I say Husband Crèche

One of my favourite places, amazing staff, awesome managers. Best spot in Keswick by a mile! Chilled atmosphere and dog friendly is a big plus!

Cozy little pub with a lovely atmosphere! Always greeted by the friendly staff and made most welcome! And the food is delish!!!!!
