We arrived the weekend of the Prix de L'Arc races. The 3 ladies running the place were all smiles and very helpful, but literally running from the register to the tables to the kitchen. We arrived just before the tables filled up. The food was ok. I would recommend that everyone in France cook sausage so that it is well done and NOT pink inside. To save time, cut sausages lengthwise & flatten so that it is cooked thoroughly & cuts down on the time needed to cook. Sausage should always be browned. And I know it is the English Shop, but in a country with amazing bread, serve the local stuff, it's just so much better than white bread. We went for breakfast, but maybe tea would be better. So lovely to be able to come and see the changes to the English Shop. A lovely cup of Earl Grey out of a China cup. The cakes looked tempting and there is a large selection of gifts and English produce. The only suggestion I would make is to do something about the phone! Very off putting to try to have a conversation with the phone constantly going, i can do that home!

Wow! I'm very happy the English Shop is still thriving. I used to bake the cakes for the shop back around 1998 and it was a refreshing break in my day to pop in and have a cuppa. Helen is a very lovely lady and will brighten up anyone's day. If you're away from home then you really must pop into this tea shop.

We stopped for a pleasant lunch at The English Shop. The menu is quite limited but the sandwiches were quite pleasant, as was the iced tea and lemon meringue pie. The price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the lunch.
