Went to the Evenhill today for Christmas lunch with good friends. 3 of us ordered Mushroom Risotto and the other ordered Pork Belly. Eventually we were brought out 3 mushrooms on toast not what we ordered and at the same time they brought out the Pork Belly. We sent it all back. They then brought out 3 cold Risotto’s which were stoggy so these got sent back and the Pork Belly was still cold as it was left to sit under a light. We changed orders to fish and chips for me and the others stuck to the Risotto but again brought out cold and was tasteless as not made with stock , wine and didn’t have any mushrooms in it. If I could rate 0 I would!!! we thought we’d support our local pub and book for our sons Christening party for everyone to have food drinks at The Evenhill! All booked back in June, agreed with the Manager. Lovely jubbly. THEY’VE NOW CANCELLED THE BOOKING 7 WEEKS BEFORE THE EVENT BECAUSE CAVERY TAKES PRIORITY! I never ever moan on here but HOW COULD THEY DO THIS!!!! Disgraceful. Worst service and pub EVER. I have all emails confirming the event. Penney needs to learn how to manage her diary and not agree to events she can’t handle.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! The service is top-notch, with accommodating staff who are always smiling and making you feel welcome. I went for a birthday dinner in October and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food - it was far beyond typical pub grub. I returned with my family on a busy Sunday without a reservation, but they still managed to fit us in. Once again, the service, food, and staff were excellent. I love the atmosphere of this place and highly recommend it to others.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous. The accommodations are small but they have all the necessary facilities, including an espresso machine with plenty of refreshments. The restaurant offers excellent value for money and is located in a beautiful country setting just 10 minutes from Canterbury town centre. I would highly recommend it.

Worst Shepherd Neame pub especially for food, had a Christmas lunch £35 food was not hot and roast potatoes way over done that it was a roast black crisp, disappointing as food is usually good in Shepheard neame pubs. Service: 1
