My friends and I went to The Fainting Goat for brunch. We were excited for their bottomless brunch (drinks: **** marys, a selection of mimosas, and sangria and delicious sounding entrées. We ordered a side of French Fries and their Goat CheeseFondue for appetizers. The fries were piping hot and well seasoned. The Goat Cheese Fondue was very nice. (See photo. It wascheesy, satisfyingly salty, and slightly spicy. The crusty toasted bread was a perfect accompaniment and the arugula was adelicious palate cleansers. It?s a bit steep at $17, but a good shareable appetizer. Our party really liked the drinks. Thewhite cranberry mimosa and red sangria were crowd favorites. At $22/ person, it?s not a...

This is the lowest-rent top-shelf bar/lounge/speakeasy I’ve ever visited. The spirits selection is clearly carefully cultivated and truly high-end. So, if you’re looking premium spirits/cocktails but the feel of a local pub/watering-hole/drop-in, this is your place—just be prepared to pay through the nose for the privilege. To wit, the bill for a round of drinks for me and my wife, i.e., one Stagg Jr. neat and one cocktail? $182.21. That’s right, almost 200 clams for two drinks (including the automatic 20% tip, new DC “living wage” surcharge* and tax . The culprit? The $120 glass of Stagg Jr. Now, in fairness, bourbon prices have gotten crazy so I expect a premium for the Stagg, and am accus...
I went to this restaurant last night and had a fantastic experience! It was a cozy speakeasy with wonderful staff. Our bartender was very knowledgeable and helped us choose drinks that we would enjoy. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and reasonably priced. The ambiance was incredible - walking through a brick door into an underground bourbon room style space with dim lighting and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for hanging out with friends or a significant other. Parking was a challenge since it was located on U Street, but the metro stop was nearby. I would highly recommend this place overall!
Fainting Goat has good drink specials, especially for U Street. The atmosphere is cute, and the service is good. However, where it lost stars was the food, which surprised me because I'd seen it recommended in several articles. It's a small menu, so Iexpected the couple options they had to all be great. I will say the pizza with lamb sausage was delicious, but everything elsewas fairly meh and very overpriced. I do not recommend the goat cheese fondue, which was oily and separated. Book a table now
There was no food available at this speakeasy, as we expected. The cocktails were not very good, and there were no prices listed on the menu. When we received the bill, we found that the four cocktails we had ordered were in the $16-17 range, which is typical. Overall, we found the cocktails to be average at best. We were disappointed, as we had expected better from a speakeasy.
Their happy hour deals are the best! The staff is so awesome and really makes it a point to whip up creative and fun drinks. Carlos the manager is so friendly and makes stopping by worth it!
Amazing drinks and cozy atmosphere! Perfect for a romantic night out. I will definitely come back and recommend to all my friends that this place serves the best espresso martini in DC.
Drinks not worth the price. Didn’t get the complete drink (left out smoke bubble from Cloak and Dagger drink that was advertised). 20% automatic tip applied to the bill. Book a table now
This place is awesome. The only thing that would make it perfect are small bites to have with your drinks!
The steak was very good but the short ribs were fatty and just not what I expected.
