This review is specifically about the downstairs area. The food is excellent, but the service down there is quite slow. I had to place my order three times, and the bartender clearly didn't want to be working. His performance was disappointing, and he should probably be in a less fast-paced environment. On the other hand, a young girl was working very hard but still struggled to keep up. I decided to head upstairs for a drink, but the bar staff informed me they were closed, despite it only being 8:15 PM. Held my wife 's 50th birthday party in their private Laura Room ... setup, food and service (young man named Drake) could not have been any greater! This is our go to for special occasions or simply when I am craving a great steak in a very neat atmosphere (and the best homemade steak sauce on the planet). The SpeakEasy downstairs is a cool and comfy place for a nightcap. Highly recommend! Service: Dine in
What a charming place! I had the fried chicken and it was WONDERFUL! Love the fact that it is in an old church. The stained glass windows and wood floors definitely added to the ambiance. I have to say, we've lived here for seven years and had no idea you were even around until I saw a news report. We live just a couple of blocks away! Marketing really makes a difference in 2023. I'm sorry to hear that you're closing down. Perhaps Johnny Morris might be interested in taking over.
I'm really sad to see this place go. We visited one Sunday after Dutch for brunch, and I was impressed by the high quality of the food, which was clearly prepared with great care. I'll definitely miss having brunch there.
