This place is truly special; it’s absolutely amazing! Situated by the river, it’s the perfect spot to take in the view while enjoying some delicious homemade food. The BBQ Riegel sandwich, potatoes, Kalico veggies, and cheese curds were all fantastic. The vintage maritime decor creates a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Mike, the owner, was very engaging—he checked in with everyone to see how they liked the food and if they needed anything. He’s an honest, warm-hearted person who really enhanced the experience. Just a heads up: they’re only open from May to October, and I hear they’re closing for the season soon, so make sure to visit while you can!
The Fish Shack is a little old place where you can get together with tasty food and eclectic decor. The Guttenburger is incredible; a loose meat sandwich that is half ground beef and half pork sausage, with pimento olives (wierd but actually really works) in a tangy BBQ sauce. They are cash only, but that's okay they're happy to let you get to an atm after eating.
The Fish Shack is a must if you are in Guttenberg. It's right behind the public restrooms on the river. There are nice stairs down to the location. Kind, friendly service and awesome fish and shrimp. I am in Guttenberg all the time and it was my first time there but it will not be my last. Great, unique location and idea.
Very nice honest man owns this place..After dropping off grandkids and working at my shop all day we took a drive to see a new site Twisted Alley will be opening soon in Guttenberg and just had to try the Fish Shack. Your not going to get a dinner like this anywhere else. YUMMY!!! We'll be back.

This is a lovely little gem that you might overlook if you're not careful about where you’re looking. Mike and the staff were fantastic, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon! The view of the river is beautiful and tranquil.
Great food with an original ambience. Beautiful views of the river while you eat. The menu is limited but never disappointed!! It's one of our favorite places.
Dining here is fantastic! The location right by the Mississippi River adds to the experience, and Michael is a marvelous host!
