Ate lunch here yesterday with my partner, his mum and my dog. They were able to accomodate us without a reservation (because we'd just left The Golden Lion where the service was terrible, but that's a different review... . There was ample seating and space for all of us--dog included--to spread out. Lunch was great (fish pie, fish and chips, crumble, chocolate lava cake and the two guys who were working were just really really nice. I also got to cuddle a puppy, so that was an added bonus. Have been here before just for drinks but I think this will be our regular when we're in Northallerton.
Just had the pop up fine dining experience and it was a brilliant and well cooked menu, lovely atmosphere with a great singer and very kind and attentive staff. This was a place that feels like everyone working there cares about what they do. Very fairly priced and will definitely be coming back again! Thank you.
We visited at 2:00 PM for the Sunday Carvery and were somewhat disappointed. There was only beef and ham available, with no pork, and some of the vegetable dishes were empty. The food was also a bit cold. If we decide to go again, we might need to arrive earlier.
Would have been 5 star but owners wife/girlfriend was not nice . Her and manager where having tapas tried to have a look to see what was nice . And all I got was bad looks .ended up Ian the Potteing shed

Fabulous place for food and an amazing atmosphere every time I have been in. Live music is fantastic on a Saturday night and lovley friendly bar staff that can not do enough for you.
Just been for lunch and was delicious. Had the hot beef sandwich and the meat was tender and tasty. Portion size was very good and staff really helpful
The food here is absolutely excellent and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly, there's a cozy roaring fire, and the atmosphere is delightful.
There are plenty of beer options available, and both the beers and the larger selections are well-maintained and served nicely.
