We had an evening with friends that we have known since all our children were born 16 years ago! We were taken through to the small cosy room, I think it is called the bakery. Very friendly service, starters we excellent. Main course even better. Tiny confusion over desserts but sorted with good humour and amusement. Would highly recommend and would certainly return. When we came to pay there was some confusion but all sorted with many apologies and good humour again. It is not making errors that are the problem it is how it is resolved that is the measure of excellent customer service. Top venue.

My friend and I chose this pub on recommendation but were horrified when we both selected “dairy-free” meal options only to be unknowingly served the options that weren’t diary free. Potentially we both could have been very unwell but thankfully one of the waitresses picked up on the error before we started eating, but only because my friend asked her to double-check. This was extremely poor service and terrible oversight.

After dining at this restaurant before, we were let down by our Christmas lunch experience. While we appreciated the festive decor, the staff's helpfulness, and the high quality wine, the scallop starter was unappetizing and the turkey main dish was subpar. To top it off, my husband found the profiteroles dessert to be stale with inedible cream.

Beware if a member of your group has a food allergy. The waiter had little idea about the content of the restaurant’s food and was uncertain of the meanings of the terms ‘vegan’ and ‘vegetarian’. Further more he insisted that the ice cream dessert was vegan even though it contained dairy product saying: “it’s ok because it’s homemade”.
