Went for a nice meal with my partner. Food was good but let down by dessert as it was undercooked and too late in the evening to wait around for another. Sadly customer service not the best, took over 10 minutes after we had been...seated for us to be given a menu and offered a drink. A few large groups were in which caused a lot of noise, combined with being sat near the kitchen hatch it’s not a relaxing atmosphere especially when you can barely hear your partner on the other side of the table. I also had to use the WC whilst there and was quite shocked at how unclean and unkept the facilities were, definitely didn’t marry up to the rest of the establishment.
Since the lockdown, our favorite restaurant came to an end until last night. The fillet steaks at The Fox Hole have always been excellent, but since our last visit a few months ago, the owner has changed their meat supplier. Unfortunately, the fillet steak last night was overcooked and lacking in flavor, so I had to rely on the pepper sauce to add some taste. I also suspected that the chips may have been frozen, but I didn't inquire with the waitress. It made me wonder if the ownership of the restaurant has changed hands again. I hope things improve so we can return to enjoy the beautiful venue once more.
Very friendly staff, warm and welcoming. Shown to our table immediately, allowed us to settle down and took our drinks order. Spoilt for choice on both starters and mains. All food delivered timely, and of exceptional quality. Good choice of desserts, although I chose the...wrong one for my pallet, the rice pudding was sweet, cooked well just the caramelised sugar wasn’t for me.

Had a wonderful lunch today at the Foxhole. From initial booking to service today Dakota and other team provided excellent service. So considerate of our elderly parents. Excellent food and wine....fish platters and the best caramelised rice pudding....please don't change the menu! Look forward to...our next visit when we are back visiting our family in March.
While traveling to Teesside, we took a detour to Piercebridge in search of a pub and stumbled upon a hidden gem. The dining experience was exceptional, earning a 5-star rating. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite, making us consider making a special trip back to this charming establishment.
Went for a birthday celebration, there were 17 of us. We pre-booked our food. Both the food and the service by the excellent staff were amazing! They made us all feel very special. We had two gluten free in our party and they carefully prepared...and served our food.
We really enjoyed our lunch today. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was really fresh and tasty. Our dog was also made very welcome with dog treats! We would definitely recommend this to others.
