The experience at this restaurant was absolutely shocking and unacceptable, despite preordering and given time slots in advance. The Christmas meal was not worth £20 per person, let alone £60. The staff worked hard while the management watched things go wrong without intervening. This was the first and last time my family and I will eat out on Christmas Day at this establishment. The management has seriously tarnished their business reputation with everyone who had the unfortunate experience of booking here. Even my 6-year-old grandson said it was the worst meal he ever had. It took over 3 hours to be served a 3-course meal, with many plates missing items like vegetables and potatoes (all fr...

We arrived at the pub on a busy and lively Saturday evening (7:45pm). We were in Leyland visiting a friend who recommended it for good food and beer. We found a table by the window that could accommodate our group of six. While one person went to the bar to order drinks, we were just about to look at the menu when we were approached by a rather grumpy man who informed us that children were not allowed in after 8pm. Luckily, our drinks had not been served yet due to the crowd at the bar, which seemed to be handling the rush efficiently. We did not see any signs indicating this rule, and the website stated that food was served until 9pm, with a kids menu on the table. We were taken aback by th...

Visited today with friends, ordered the Sunday Lunch advertised as £13.50 for Beef and Chicken with veg and potatoes. I can honestly say it was the worse Sunday lunch I've ever had. Beef was out of a packet and tough as old boots, chicken was a wing, on the bone, black and was burnt to a crisp. Frozen carrots, frozen green beans and packet roast potatoes. The gravy was nice. We left almost all of it. The management were notified and made themselves scarce when we complained. A full refund was given. Most tables around us were making similar complaints about the awful food served. The couple next to us waited over half an hour for their desert, she too got a refund for her main course. The ba...

First visit in some time and first since the refurbishment. The alterations have been tastefully done and created more open space without adversely affecting the atmosphere. It was, however, disappointing that no cask ales were available. It appears that there are normally 2 on offer but the pumps were not in operation. There always used to be an excellent, varied choice of cask ales here and it would be good if this choice were reinstated. As it is, for me personally, John Smiths bland, pasteurised keg would not encourage me to be a regular visitor.
