What a great place, picked at random for lunch with friends and not disappointed by our choice. Friendly and welcoming, with staff who could not do enough for you. Even the chef, who had great sense of humour, put in an appearance to check on customer satisfaction. Great choice of menu, very reasonably priced with premium quality food which could not be faulted. Would definitely visit again and happy to recommend to anyone.
We dined at this restaurant this evening and were impressed by the friendly and accommodating service. They even provided water for our dog and went above and beyond to accommodate our vegan daughter. The food exceeded our expectations, with fine dining quality rather than typical pub fare. We would like to thank the George staff and give compliments to their exceptional chef.
The restaurant was incredibly welcoming and the food was fantastic. The cozy atmosphere with a real fire was a delightful touch, making it a true gem of a pub. They followed all restrictions diligently, which gave us peace of mind dining there in the current environment.
As we were in lock down I ordered a delivery of fish and chips. Wow! fresh cod,lovely chips,mushy peas and tartar sauce. The free delivery was on time and the food was delicious. Huge portions and a fair price. Book a table now
The restaurant has returned with a new focus on pizza and an expanded menu. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is just as welcoming as before.
For a while the George lost its way. Now it is back with a very friendly and laid back sports bar vibe which we as a a family love!
