The George is a charming pub that brings a vibrant life to the area. It boasts a fantastic atmosphere and plenty of activities, making it very popular. We had reserved a table, which I highly recommend for busy nights. The food is exceptional; we enjoyed scallops, game terrine, pork belly, and a fish hotpot. Everything was of the highest quality, and honestly, it was some of the best food I've had in a long time. Each dish was perfectly cooked with superb flavors—rich and delightful. I especially recommend the game terrine; it was outstanding. The George has successfully created a beautifully welcoming ambiance, complemented by attentive and friendly service, all paired with incredible food....
To start, we were treated to complimentary appetizers, including a delicious carrot soup served in an espresso cup. For our starters, we ordered a soufflé and pâté, both of which were outstanding. We were then pleasantly surprised with a complimentary grapefruit sorbet to cleanse our palates.
When our main courses arrived, everything was so good that the plates were left spotless! We brought our own cake, so we didn’t order dessert, but the restaurant offered a variety of tempting options that I would have loved to try. Instead, we enjoyed some lovely coffees along with our cake as we finished off our delightful evening by the fire.

I went there last night with two friends for dinner, and I fell in love with this place from the moment we arrived until we left. The hostess was fantastic, and her wine recommendation was perfect. The food was delicious—I chose from the specials menu even before glancing at the main menu. I had pigeon followed by venison, and it was an absolute delight. The only tiny thing I would suggest changing is to swap out the salt and pepper shakers for real grinders!
We visited on Valentine's Day, which also marked our 30th wedding anniversary. The food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding. Chef Alex truly impressed us with the menu selection, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly, attentive, and polite. It's clear that Ali has put in a lot of effort to create the perfect ambiance, and it really shows. The George has a warm, welcoming vibe that makes it a must-visit!

What a fantastic experience! The venue is beautiful, and sipping cocktails in the garden under the sun was a little piece of paradise. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the food was amazing. Staying in the Rosemary Suite and having a continental breakfast delivered to our room made this a truly relaxing getaway. We will definitely return and will bring friends!
Popped to the George on a bit of a whim last night after hearing good things. Luckily they had a table for two! From start to finish, our experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were lovely and friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing and the food was delicious. We had three courses. I massively recommend the roasted cod!
I had an wonderful meal at The George tonight. The coffee was incredibly welcoming, and the dog-friendly menu offered delicious options. The value for money was excellent, and the inviting, cozy atmosphere made for a perfect dining experience. I couldn't have asked for anything better!
Called in as we were passing on our way back from the bath xmas market, and really pleased we did...The food was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us...we would happily recommend this pub to anyone and everyone..
