Sunday lunch, always on point. We stopped for lunch with family who were travelling back to Lancashire. We called for an early Sunday lunch and sat in the cosy bar area by the log burner. Very lovely atmosphere, with super friendly staff. The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. We had the roast which was accompanied by a hearty selection of vegetables and cauliflower brocoli cheese, so tasty. We highly recommend The Golden Cross....hats off to the Chef and front of house team.
Oh dear!. Went last year with family. Nice atmosphere, good food, efficient service So, went back again. Disaster,what has happened? Freezing cold, food poor, fish and chips smelt funny. BUT, worst of all arrived 12.15. Waited 10 m to order anything. Meal finally arrived 50 minutes later!!!!!! and quality taken a dive. That's one off the list!!! Don't go until they get their act together. Nearly an hour to get food on table really unacceptable
Back in our favourite cosy country restaurant. We absolutely love coming to the Golden cross, the warm welcome from The owners and the food is outstanding! A la cartè dining at a fraction of the cost you would pay in the nearest town of Stratford upon Avon. Our little gem of a place. Supporting local businesses not these big corporate company's. Keep doing what your doing guys your service, food and restaurant speak for themselves.
Organised a group christmas meal for 17 people, from the outset the pub was helpful and even threw in a free glass of bubbly. On the night they were very well organised, staff excellent and more importantly everyone was delighted with their meal. One of our group was gluten and dairy free and it was not a problem. We had the main dining room to ourselves which was a bonus and it was beautifully decorated. Well done! Book a table now
Wow! Called on the off chance of an available table for lunch Martin said they do a brilliant Sunday lunch. That is no understatement! The food was outstanding and the customer service exceptional. It’s always one thing to provide good quality food that is well-prepared but that is elevated to another level when the welcome and staff interaction is sincere. Thank you for a great meal. We will be back!
Amazing! We had our wedding reception at The Golden Cross. We had private use of the restaurant. Laura, Felan and the team could not have done more for us. The service was amazing, adding those personal touches to our special day. The food is delicious! I would highly recommend anyone to go for lunch or dinner, you will not be disappointed!
This place is brilliant! Food although not on the main menu, the chef went out of his way to provide a range of great vegan options, I had vegetable pie, full of root veggies, mushrooms greens, delicious; hubby had chicken pie equally yummy. Staff brilliant, polite, friendly, really attentive. Beer fantastic, well kept. Ambience lovely!
Family Christmas Eve dinner. Food was well presented, plentiful and tasty. Everyone was happy with choices. We’ve always liked this pub; recently food has gone up a notch along with prices but still good value and staff always pleasant and helpful. Book a table now
