My wife and I visited for our anniversary. We had an amazing experience. The food was delicious and the service was great. We were welcomed and treated very well. I would recommend to anyone to try at least once. The food options were broad and there was an obvious care for dietary needs, including allergies. Portion sizes, which are often something that gets raised when talking about this calibre of restaurant, wasn't an issue as the food was beautifully presented, rich and balanced which is part of the experience (quality over quantity). we had to go to salcombe for the high time of a friend. salcombe is a fairer trek, from where we live, we planned to drive the day before the departing, instead of having to wake up on the day of high season. that gave us a great opportunity to search some restaurants nearby. with the ViaMichelin website appeared on the search for two remarkable restaurants – treby arms by anton piotrowski by masterchef professional ruhm (and as writing the only chef of master professional who has actually won a Michelin star) and the elephant of simon hulstone. I came to eat hulstones once. on a ba flight to singapur. hulstone was commissioned to design the menu to celebrate the Olympic Summer Games in lond...

in a sunny day like the one we enjoyed, it is hard to believe that torquay is in england. the kai is a wide range of yacht and fishing boats, the promenade a seemingly polite place to watch people with a cold glass rose in the hand. everything shines. try to remove these collets, but we could have been in the south of France. to the far end of the harbour is the award-winning the elephant. the chef and the owner simon hulme, has pedigree; he has represented blighty in the bocuse d’Or and the restaurant has held a Michelin star for many years. the booking of dinner there for our only night in torquay was a simple choice.

we booked the elephant as a 50th birthday party and at the arrival I was presented with a birthday card that was a beautiful geste, the waitress was very attentive and professional that made the evening more pleasant. when we decided to choose which menu we decided for the tasting menu, as it shows the cook dishes and trusted me that it was not disappointed when it was stunning, but we both agreed that the cod was the star of the show tonight. we recommend both this restaurant
