We stayed over a Saturday night recently in Dana Point. I researched area Sunday brunch options that were close by. Harbor Grill was a very short walk from our hotel and I was able to make reservations easily on OpenTable. Note that they are presently opening at 10:00 am on Sundays, NOT 9:00 am. Anyway, we arrived about 5 minutes til 10:00 and waited out front while the staff was setting the tables. One of the servers sat us around 09:58:30 and she wound up being visibly berated by what appeared to be the owner lady. How dare she seat us 90 seconds before opening ! I felt bad for her. Anyway, the restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, comfortable and has nice views of the Dana Point Marina....

Drove down to Dana Point yesterday with a friend for lunch and a walk at Salt Creek Beach. The beach turned out to be way too crowded just from looking at the parking lot at the Ritz-Carlton so we moseyed on down to Harbor Grill. The lunch was fairly expensive but absolutely delicious! The crab cakes were perfect. Just what I had been craving and looking for on a mission for the past 6 weeks at various restaurants. The shrimp tacos were also good: two big ones that I shared with my friend. The rice that came with the tacos was also good. I think it was rice pilaf. The guac looked homemade and was tasty. I indulged myself with dessert and selected the key lime pie. This pie was not the usual...

What an amazing discovery for us as first-time visitors! Conveniently located by the harbor, it was just a short walk from our hotel. We had two mango martinis, warm bread with butter, and their delicious crab cake appetizer, and we were thrilled with everything! The mango martinis were fruity without being overly sweet, and the crusty bread paired perfectly with salted butter. The crab cakes were the best I've ever tasted—packed with crab, perfectly crispy, and accompanied by a mild red roasted pepper sauce. The entrees on the menu also sounded fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable. It’s a shame we couldn't return for dinner! The patio seating is dog-friendly, and while the interio...

2 stars below average. Won 't be coming back. This place was just meh . I was intrigued with their rather larger seafood selection on the menu, but learned from this experience that larger doesn 't necessarily mean better . I got the Australian lobster with the petite filet combo, and was rather disappointed with the lobster. Perhaps I 'm just not an Australian lobster fan, but eating this meal definitely confirmed that I won 't be ordering Australian lobster anywhere again. The filet was cooked nicely and it was the best part of the meal. The service was pleasant. Our waitress was kind, respectful and the food came out fairly quickly. This restaurant is located by the marina of Dana Point,... Book a table now

Stopped in here for a quick bite on a Sunday evening and had a nice meal! The place was a little tough to find, but after finding the free parking; we walked in and were seated right away at around 8:30pm on a Sunday. The kitchen closes at 9pm, but we didn't feel rushed at all. We ordered two bowls of clam chowder and a Halibut to share. The clam chowder was decent, although it wasn't served in a bread bowl (which I sort of expected from looking at the pictures, but maybe they changed things up) and the Halibut was so good! Fresh fish served on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with some bak choy and a curry sauce of sorts. Bread was complimentary and service was seamless. Highly recommended f...

Two of us went around 3:30pm. The service was good and attentive but they gave us the dinner menu although we think it's not time for dinner yet. We didn't complain. We ordered fish and chip and clam chowder cup. The soup is good although I would say the clam chowder I had the other day at shake shack is much better for the price. The fish and chip is not good. The fish has no flavor; I am not sure if that's how they cook it. The ones I had before usually you don't need to dip the sauce. The good side is the fries was really good. I gave the two stars for the service and the fries. Not recommending the fish. Chowder is ok but not worse the price.

Came here for brunch and enjoyed our food, drinks, and the live music! There was no wait around 10am for brunch which was nice. I was feeling fancy and ordered a martini, but quickly realized that I'm not a martini kind of guy. The Fried Crispy Calamari and Oysters on the Half Shell were good, except for a few bits of oyster shell : The Dungeness Crab Louie Salad was loaded with crab! Pan Seared Cajun Blackened Seabass was a little under seasoned for me but overall everything was pretty decent.

We visited during happy hour, and the restaurant is conveniently located right by the marina, just a five-minute stroll from our hotel. We enjoyed a couple of martinis and ordered the crab cakes, which were absolutely delicious! The patio is lovely, and the atmosphere is fantastic. We were informed that the restaurant is set to close in September 2022. It has been a longstanding favorite in the marina, so if it's on your list of places to try, make sure to visit before it closes! Book a table now

This beloved restaurant is closing at the end of September due to construction on the DP marina. They have a wonderful menu featuring fresh fish daily! Great portion sizes, nice service and great ambiance! If your in the area make a bee-line here!
