I had dinner here last night with two friends and we were all so impressed!!!! The meal was fantastic; I had the ribeye and it was absolutely delicious and my friend had the most enormous, tasty homemade steak and ale pie. We were blown away by the portion sizes and overall quality of the food. A wonderful, relaxed and cosy setting with plenty of atmosphere. This was our first visit to The Heron but we will be back whenever we visit friends in the area. It is very clear to see how passionate Tracey is about her business; we had such amazingly friendly, attentive service. The Heron, alongside the River Great Ouse, is a delightful pub/restaurant. Although it retains the character of a much older establishment, it has been tastefully renovated making it welcoming and comfortable. The menu has many tempting starters, mains and deserts, and from the illustrations, the chef certainly understands the importance of presentation. As we were not looking for a full meal, my wife and I skipped the starters and went for fish and chips. Two portions available, my wife chose the smaller whilst I selected the larger. This is a lovely pub, very friendly and in a great location on the river. We had a roast which was spot on, made to feel very welcome and the staff were very attentive. Won't hesitate to go back
