The pub is gorgeous, adorned with tasteful decor and featuring a fantastic outdoor seating area. However, the menu is quite limited with few options for main meals, which was disappointing. There were no specials available either. Despite the homemade chips, they lacked freshness and were pale and chewy, as if they had been stored for a few days. The staff also seemed inattentive. It's a shame because the pub and its surroundings are beautiful, but the food left us feeling underwhelmed.

We made a reservation for Sunday lunch based on a friend's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was simply amazing. The cauliflower cheese was the best I've ever had. My only suggestion would be to either offer dining by the canal or allow dogs on the deck. Unfortunately, we missed out on dining there yesterday because of this policy. Despite this, I do plan on returning again in the future.

Called in while passing, never been before. Had the steak night special, was excellent. Great staff. Went to leave a tip after paying to be told that there's no need as they add a service charge on !! Not happy at the fact we weren't told about this charge first off. While I don't begrudge leaving a tip, it should be pointed out that there is a 10% charge on top of your final bill.

Had a lovely walk around the Idle valley nature reserve. Decided to go for a pub lunch afterwards. Not being local did a google search and this pub looked a good bet. It turned out it was. Canal side setting with amazing covered outdoor seating areas. Good food and drink. Helpful pleasant staff. It was sunny which for this year was a bonus! Well worth a visit.
