Upon arriving we waited 20 minutes and no drinks ordered placed, we had to find a waitress who then came and we ordered drinks and food at the same time. We then waited 60 minutes and asked how long our food was likely to be and we were told it was being plated up, a further 15 minutes and two plates were put on our table one of which we had put pepper on, only for the manager to rush out and remove our plates as they were for a different table! So again after 75 minutes we waited for the correct food to come out. Two roast beef dinners had 2 very thin see through pieces on and the chicken dinner had only one small piece and the stuffing was no more than a tea spoon. Our party had 2 children...
Honestly appalling!!! On a long drive to see my sick grandma and needed to stop for the toilet! Saw this pub and went in side, was prepared to buy a drink or some crisps so we could use their facilities but no one in site apart from one man in the dark who didn't look like he worked there as he wasn't in work attire (clearly very unprofessional) so we navigated the toilet and was going to leave a tenner on the bar as we left until one woman comes in glaring at us and immediately walks out (unprofesslonal again). Then a MAN walks in and asks what we were doing and explained the situation. He was very rude when I noted we didn't see him and he kicked us out without being polite or showing any...
We recently visited The Horseshoe Inn for a family dinner. The staff greeted us warmly and showed us to our table. The appetizers and desserts were delicious, but the main course, which consisted of carvery roast beef, roast ham, and roast turkey, was just average. Each dish was accompanied by a generous portion of vegetables, including broccoli, green beans, parsnips, and potatoes, all topped with a Yorkshire pudding. However, there was an overwhelming amount of gravy that overshadowed the flavors of the meats and vegetables. The portions of meat were also quite small. Had a leaflet through my door offering one free meal, no terms and conditions added to it. When presented at the time of paying the ownner took the leaflet away and told us it was only for the menu printed inside the leaflet obviously we should have been mind readers)! The leaflet was then thrown in the bin and the owner refused to give it us back.. When we argued our point he offered to give us our money back .......too late , we shouldnt have had to argue our point. It left a sour taste in our mouth, especially as locals told us they pointed out his mistake two days ago.......he denied knowing about it. We have an original leaflet from our neighbours , will be taking it to trading standard...

We hoped for a pleasant break from cooking after a busy day. Such a let down. The chicken pie with chips was the worst restaurant meal I have had in a very long time. The chips had a very unpleasant aftertaste which has stayed with me for the rest of the evening. The chicken pie was clearly a compilation of a too-wet filling spooned onto the plate (some of it covered a portion of the chips...a give away) with a puff pastry put on top. The chicken filling was wet and bland. The chips were left on the plate and the pieces of chicken came home for the dog. My wife had the supposed vegetarian risotto. This was equally bland and much of it was left uneaten too. We will not be visiting again.
Went with family yesterday for a birthday meal. The owner took our order but was very miserable when doing so. I asked for a couple of chips instead of my salad and was rudely told no changes to what was on the menu. He continued to take the order with absolutely no customer service skills or politeness whatsoever. When the food came he had missed 3 meals off the order and sent a young waitress to apologise for his mistake. We ordered seperate chips as we weren't allowed to make amendments to the plate, wish I'd not bothered they were disgusting and mostly raw! Also there was a small child going in and out of the kitchen which is not safe or hygienic where food is being prepared.
Misleading menu free meal pushed through door for one person until you go in and pay and not honored by the owner feel ripped off 80.00 bill even when leaflet drop says one free with no times or meals that you have to eat the owner knew about this misprint two days ago and is still ripping people off even the staff know its a rip off customers even said not another one the owner tried to talk us out of it as he knew all about it even before we went in he even said to me this is why we are not busy no wonder ripping local business off
Terrible experience! I booked a table for a birthday celebration. The bartender was unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills. It took a long time to get a menu, and some of our food was missed off the order, resulting in two of our party members eating after everyone else had finished. We were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience. The waiter and waitress did their best in a poorly run restaurant. The food itself was decent, but overall it was a disappointing experience. I would not return to this restaurant.

I went this morning to try out the new breakfast menu. There were many delicious options to choose from, including a build-your-own breakfast for £10.50, where you could select 10 items. The staff at the Horseshoe are always friendly and the food is delicious. I highly recommend trying their breakfast, but the rest of the menu is also excellent. I always enjoy dining at the Horseshoe!
