Having eaten here numerous times pre covid we booked a family meal to take my parents out. Service extremely disappointing. Walked in and waited... no staff on the bar or in the restaurant..had I have just walked in on spec I wud have walked straight out, however I had booked a table so staff should have been expecting us. Instead of being sat in the restaurant area we were sat in the bar area. No dress code for staff. Rather than the restaurant I thought I was taking my parents to it is a run of the mill pub serving good food. To sum up. Extremely poor service. Good food.
As a regular visitor pre-Covid we have noticed a significant difference in the offerings of food available. The choice at lunchtime is now limited as the lunchtime smaller/specials have been discontinued. This will deter the silver diners which would fill the place at lunch. Not just because the prices are significantly higher but the portion sizes are larger than desired. The Covid regulations are adhered to and the food is of excellent quality. It’s just a pity that the price and size of the lunch now makes it prohibitive for a regular visit.
Disappointing Sunday Lunch. Table booked for 16.30, girl behind the bar pointed to a table and told us to sit there. The choice was beef or pork for Sunday Lunch. We had to ask to be shown the specials board when 2 of us wanted beef only to be told they had sold out. I had roast pork, came with mashed and roast potatoes, carrots and overcooked cabbage. The young girl asked if we wanted any sauces, I asked for apple sauce, eventually she came back and said they had run out. All in all the food wasn't upto standard and the service was poor.
Visited this establishment on 20th September for our anniversary meal only to be told the kitchen was closed, the time was 19.50, both on Facebook and their website stated that the kitchen closes at 21.00, decided to have a drink before leaving and listened to a member of staff tell a group of people that they're starter was on their table, we had contacted the establishment the day before and there was no mention of the kitchen closing early on a Monday, will never recommend this place to anyone, very very disappointed.

Drove past today and decided to call in. Beautiful day so sat outside in the beer garden. Food beautiful, freshly prepared and very hot. Good size portions. Staff friendly and pleasant. Will definitely call in again. Well worth a visit.
Got there early not knowing food opening time of 6pm so chilled with a drink or 2. 6pm came, nothing, at 6.20 we walked out just as the special.board was showed. Sorry wasn't waiting round the service was a joke, won't b returning
The staff were so so lovely and helpful, the food and drinks were great and arrived super quickly! Garden was lovely to sit in with the sun out. Felt very at home and welcomed, with our dog too.
Had a sunday roast dinner delivered for 4 people lovely food excellent service great value cant wait to visit after this second lock down ...
