Food was great. Atmosphere was terrible. Sat at a table in the bar area, which was empty except for the bar. And HOT. Every time they turned the AC on, and it started to get cooler, they would go over and turn it off! There was an employee and 3 bar patrons carrying on a VERY LOUD conversation of which we could hear every word. There was no music to drown them out. I thought that was a little rude, that we were trying to have dinner and they were having a conversation like they were in someone’s living room. When we left we saw there was an entire other room we could have sat in and it felt much cooler.
I came across a delightful gem! Delicious Italian food in a cozy family restaurant! When I arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday night, every table was occupied and there was a constant flow of takeout orders, indicating the top-notch food. I sat at the small bar where the owner served as my waiter, giving me personalized attention while preparing cappuccinos and cocktails. I chose the mixed manicotti and cannelloni, and they were absolutely delicious. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will definitely make a point to visit this restaurant!
The pasta noodles themselves were ok but the chicken Alfredo I had was more oily than it was creamy. We also had a pizza that the center was undercooked and a little cold. The table we sat at was wobbly. They may have been short staffed or something because the waitress took a bit to get to us. Oh plus the bread you get is cold, the butter is hard and we had to ask for olive oil to dip the bread into.
My in-laws have been coming to this restaurant almost every week for over 40 years, and now I understand why! Eunice creates a cozy and welcoming atmosphere here. The weekly specials are always changing and the familiar staff make it easy to keep coming back. And don't forget about the amazing desserts!

Italian Cafe is my go-to spot in Falls Church. Everything about it is top-notch - from the delicious food to the inviting atmosphere, to the wonderful owner/manager. I've been a loyal customer for 5 years now and I always leave with a smile on my face.
It was not very busy when we got there but was very busy when we left. We were seated and sat for 30 minutes before I went to find someone to order with. After that it went pretty smoothly. Good prices on the food. Will be back.
