I have been consistently impressed by the food at this pub every time I visit. The homemade pies and fish and chips are particularly delicious. The steak and Guinness pie is the best I've ever had, the crispy chips are amazing, and the fish is perfectly cooked. The staff are always friendly, and the atmosphere is quiet. This place deserves more recognition for their incredible food. Don't miss out on trying the pie! You won't be disappointed. Food was very disappointing. A very dry and uninviting burger and nothing special about the 'gourmet ' chips, not much better than frozen. I could have easily made a better meal at home unfortunately. A couple had the curry that they brought into the kitchen from somewhere and they were much nicer. Then the beer options are pretty poor. I have visited this fantastic pub/restaurant multiple times and each time the service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The chips are incredible and the pie is a standout dish that I highly recommend. The fish and chips are also excellent. We went for Christmas lunch. The beef was a bit chewy and the meal was adequate but a bit of a let down. The whole place felt a bit run down. The redeeming feature is the setting which is beautiful!
